So far the Texas Ren Fest is still a go.. but I have a feeling things will change. :(

We did our grocery shopping today. With masks now mandated by the governor, it was a different atmosphere.

When we returned home, I was feeling nostalgic and added to photos from 2000 aboard the Carnival Paradise. The first the “Carnival Capers” explaining that no smoking (or smoking materials) are allowed on board. The second a snapshot of the live orchestra in the main lounge.

Promised snap shots from the Carnival Fantasy, 1999

We have been doing some of that. There’s also several web sites for entertainment and you can even tip. For many of these folks it is their livelihood. A number of the vendors have also suddenly added websites. It just isn’t the same.

Sorry to hear that Auntie. I know you so look forward to it. You need some smart techie to hook up some virtual gathering for your group.

The Carnival Fantasy is one of the more colorful ships. I will dig up my old albums and post a few photos later today. She was our first Halloween cruise.

I'm sad. Monarch of the Seas, went to the scrap yard at only 30 years old. I was on her 3 times, Once with friends, once with a date and once with family.

Carnival Fantasy is on its way to the scrap yard rite now. I never was on the Fantasy but I have done 6 cruises on her sister ships. Paradise was the first Carnival ship I tried. I like the old Fantasy Class ships, the Vegas tacky decor is fun for the 4 night party cruises.

Nope. Plenty to talk about with the ships being sold, cruises cancelled and questions about what will be open even if we can sail. Plus I was inspired to go back to our early cruises. I have enjoyed looking at the scrap books (I did back then) and reliving them.

Anyone running out of cruise topics to discuss as everything remains in shutdown?

JusMe, at least it’s a cool (as in temperature) haircut.

Our Renaissance Festival was officially canceled for the season today. Like cruising, it wouldn’t have been the same with all the restrictions the county planned. My Summer job will have to wait until next year!Crying
