Explorer of the Seas

August 2022 - 8 Night Southern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

RC Explorer of the Seas

Our older teenagers (18) participated in a ping pong tournament & one of them won! The other participated in Voice of the Sea and made it to the finals! We enjoyed the piano bar although it's pretty small and is in a super inconvenient spot on the ship just outside the casino. Saw several great shows & absolutely loved the ice show! Pool was fine, but always impossible to find a chair no matter the time of day or night. Fun silent disco & 80s/90s party on board. Overall enjoyed it.

Carnival Freedom

June 2019 - 7 Night Western Caribbean (Galveston Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Freedom

Fun on a Smaller Ship

Overall it was a fun trip because any day at sea is better than being on land. However I personally think I prefer a ship that's a bit larger. I also think I prefer a ship with fewer young children and obviously Carnival is very family oriented. Overall the experience was fine & I would likely sail with Carnival again on a different class ship at a time of year where there may be fewer children.

Regal Princess

March 2018 - 7 Night Western Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Regal Princess

Regal Princess was our very 1st cruise ever (myself, husband & 3 teenagers) and we loved it! We sailed end of March into April from Ft. Lauderdale to Princess Cays, Jamaica, Grand Cayman & Cozumel. The ship was absolutely stunning! We were over the moon from the elegance of it all. The piazza was breathtaking! We found our interior cabin to be very comfortable & roomier than anticipated. There was so much entertainment on board and we happened to be cruising during the Entertainer of the Year competition. We had the absolute pleasure of seeing multiple wonderful entertainers & got to vote for our favorite! The food was great & the teens loved being able to order room service whenever they wanted. They also really enjoyed the teen center & made tons of new friends. Our overall experience with Princess was phenomenal & we are excited to sail with her again in 2020 to Alaska!

Cruise tips

Oranjestad, Aruba

Had an absolutely fabulous time on a private tour of the island for our party of 7. Driver was superbly polite & knowledgeable & took us all over the island making stops that were never on the itinerary. Would absolutely recommend & tour with them again!

Explorer of the Seas

Explorer of the Seas

Whatever the time is an hour before the crack of dawn, get up then to get a chair on the pool deck or you won't get one all day.

Cozumel, Mexico

We did Cozumel by land & sea. We took a cool glass bottom boat ride, went to the Mayan Cacao Company & toured a Tequilaria. Only thing we were unhappy with was Fat Tuesdays, where we were charged far more than the menu prices.

Falmouth, Jamaica

We were rerouted to Ocho Rios due to choppy waters in Falmouth. We did however enjoy Ocho Rios, we visited the beach, some shops & a nice overlook point where we got some great photos!

Regal Princess

As soon as you get on board, explore & familiarize yourself with the ship & its layout!

Cozumel, Mexico

Had loads of fun with the family in Cozumel! Did a glass bottom boat ride, Mayan Cacao Company & Tequileria! Guides were fantastic & yours were fun! Had some good food right by the water, enjoyed the shops & took some pics with some dressed up locals. All in all we really enjoyed it & can't wait to be back next June!

George Town, Grand Cayman

We LOVED Cayman! We did the dolphins & turtle excursion & had such a blast. The teenagers had a great time holding the turtles & taking pics. My daughters dream was to swim with dolphins & we all really enjoyed it! We got to hang out with Alma the dolphin & learn about her, dance with her, get a kiss from her. So much fun! Plus, it's breathtakingly beautiful there! Water is so blue, it's amazing! Next time we go we'll definitely check out the beach!

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

We really enjoyed Princess Cays! We decided not to do any excursions here & just enjoy a beach day. We found 5 loungers under an awning in the shade (score!) and did some swimming. The beach was a bit rocky where you first get in but we had water shoes so we were prepared. We had the buffet lunch which was good & then checked out the observation deck. Fabulous views from up there, we got great family pictures! All in all it was a nice, relaxing day!
