Independence of the Seas

March 2020 - 5 Night Western Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Independence of the Seas

A Celebration on the Seas!

We chose this cruise to celebrate our sons enlistment into the United States Navy and my fathers 75th birthday. It was my fathers first cruise on something other than a naval vessel (50 years ago). Everyone had a wonderful time and my fathers mind was blown!

Nieuw Statendam

October 2019 - 10 Night Mediterranean Mosaic (Rome Roundtrip) Cruise on Nieuw Statendam

We Love Holland America Line!

A wonderful time! Our first with Holland America Line but not our last. From start to finish, no detail was too small or left undone.

Disney Dream

December 2012 - 4 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral roundtrip) Cruise on Disney Dream

Our cruise was December 9, 2012 and it was amazing! My wife, 12 y/o son and I sailed with my brother and his family. The ship was decked out with Christmas cheer, they must decorate either soon after Thanksgiving or for December. The ship was cleaner than I could have ever imagined and the crew bent over backwards to meet our needs. The food was amazing and we will never forget our maitre d’, Demetri. It was our first cruise and the Disney Dream has definitely set our expectations for future cruises very high!

Cruise tips

Celebrity Solstice

Celebrity Solstice

Spend time on deck in the grass!

Cozumel, Mexico

We didn’t do much, but it was beautiful. Our aim was to go ashore, do a little shopping and grab a bite. It was nice.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Great port call! A beautiful place! We snorkeled, did a little shopping and ate local! Restaurant: Top Taste (it really was!)

Independence of the Seas

Independence of the Seas

Embrace the beauty that is the “Whole” of the Independence of the Seas!

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Lovely town. Easy port access. We flew in the day before and enjoyed some time on the waterfront (where our hotel was located). We did a little exploring, had a wonderful meal enjoying an extraordinary view of the sunset, followed by a walk and some gelato.

Nieuw Statendam

Nieuw Statendam

It was our longest cruise to date, so we didn’t have a lot of experience. It was our first time in Europe for leisure. It was our first time cruising with HAL and there was a lot we didn’t know. The best advice I could give would be to download the Navigator app and read your daily ship’s bulletins. Choose quality over quantity and be selective as to how you spend your time...make it count. Don’t feel like you have to be doing something all the time. Relax.
