Nieuw Statendam Overview

Nieuw Statendam
Nieuw Statendam from Holland America Line

Like many Holland American ships, Nieuw Statendam is known for its onboard learning and upscale entertainment and dining experiences. From BLEND wine-blending workshops led by the ship’s sommelier,  to chamber music performances at Nieuw Statendam’s Lincoln Center Stage, passengers can immerse themselves in culture and education while at sea.

This luxurious Pinnacle-class vessel features Holland America’s beloved Music Walk, where passengers enjoy live music in genres ranging from classical to rock in venues such as B.B. King’s Blues Club and Billboard Onboard. Dance performances, comedy, and BBC Earth presentations are available in Nieuw Statendam’s World Stage, which boasts a wraparound LED screen for a true multimedia experience.

Nieuw Statendam's Club HAL offers supervised, age-suitable entertainment and engaging activities for children aged 17 and under, freeing parents to indulge in a massage at Greenhouse Spa and Salon, grab a cocktail in the Crow’s Nest observation lounge, or play the slots at the ship’s casino. Cruisers of all ages will appreciate the ship’s two pools and its sports courts, which accommodate basketball, soccer, and volleyball games.

Itineraries and Departure Ports

Nieuw Statendam itineraries offer themed cruises, originating in Amsterdam, which center around Viking and Norse legends, exploring the scenic Norwegian fjords. The vessel also sails out of Fort Lauderdale with cruises to the Caribbean, including stops in Key West, Half Moon Cay, and Grand Turk. During the early fall, the ship offers Mediterranean and Iberian cruises.

Great ship design, comfortable cabins, pleasant staff and for cruise ships a lot of forward thinking went into customer interactions. The more that goes online the better when onboard.

Make sure You Take The Elevator to top Floor, and walk down each Stairwell and look at the Great Art! (There are 3 Stairwells)

It's a pretty easy ship to get around on, but review the deck plans beforehand so you'll have a general idea where everything is as soon as you get on the ship. It's easy to remember that the dining room and music venues are are deck 2, the world stage for shows on deck 3, and the lido deck for buffet and pools on deck 9.
