A: You can buy liquor in one of the signature shops on deck 2 & 3 but they hold it for you until the end of the cruise for you to take home with you. Most prices are a good deal but you can’t drink it during the cruise.The only other option is to pre or... der a bottle to your cabin before you cruise on the website. Don’t forget each guest over 21 years of age can bring one 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne but no liquor or beer in your carry on. Q: Trying to get a sense of what to expect poolside - is the large screen always on? Is the volume high during the day and night? If someone wanted to relax by the pool and have a quiet conversation with one’s partner, would it be too difficult due to the volume and/or action on the screen? The cruise we are considering is a 14-night transatlantic, so we want to be confident in what to expect. Thanks in advance to recent and current Nieuw Statendam cruisers especially!

Q: We sail on January 14 from Port Everglades. When will we know which terminal our cruise ship leaves from. We are sailing on the Holland America Nieuw Statendam.

A: You can purchase it once you board but it's better to do so under your booking on their website. Depending on when you are traveling, you may get extra incentives like on board credits.

A: There are no self laundry rooms on any HAL ship. You can buy a weekly package or by the "bag" . Bag supplied by the ship in each cabin. HAL does a great job with their laundry service.
