Been to quiet around here.
Where is everyone?

Internet service is spotty today (it’s being looked at) and the computer crashed & burned. Thankfully, I have the Shipmate App, so I can pop on Cruiseline! I won’t be here much, until the other prolems are solved. No funny pictures from me, until I can use my thumb drive.
Hope everyone has a joyful day!
Snow started at noon and had slowed to flurries. We already have 1.5 inches expecting additional 2-4 inches. I went to visit my Mom (93) this morning. Live visits started after all residents and crew had both doses plus the 2 weeks incubation period. So two hours of driving and a half hour visit. It was worth it!
Went up to San Antonio for a couple of days hoping to make it in between storms. Ended up staying an extra day due to road closures. My cats should forgive me after a couple of days.
San Antonio apparently does not believe in salting, sanding or clearing roads during or after snow. Most major roads, including highways, are closed within the city limits.
I don't think they have the items to do any of that.. Houston has trucks that will spray stuff and some that do the salt sand mix but no plows etc. Houston was shut down until today..and some freeways still have ice. I think San Antonio got it a lot worse than we did.. Austin too. I would think they are used to this more than us down here. Dallas was bad too, my mom was without heat for almost a week.

Snow removal is not a strong suit for many of the southern states. Stay safe and stay warm man.

I don't mind it.. I miss the snow. It's just the no power part that was no fun. Texas is set up for high heat, not low temps. Hoping that since we will be in the 70's this weekend everything will thaw out and come back online!
Stay warm! This storm made its way across the country in a bad way!! Lots of record-breaking temps all over!
Glad you are safe! Hope all of your are safe and warm. Sorry our Colorado weather spilled over. We have 7.25inches of snow and had temps in minus teens (breaking a few record lows). Thankfully, we are prepared for such nonsense. Everyone please check in!
Checking in.. hoping my fellow Texans are staying warm..and anyone else being hit by these brutal winter storms!
I ventured out today to the office..no road issues on side streets and we were very fortunate to have power during the majority of the weather event.
Work from home till at least July ... retire in Sept ... I might never go back to the office ...
Well since cases are spiking in Houston again, our company has let us start working from home again. The requirement was to come in (staggered) at least once a week, but since I am in the process of starting a new position, I have to go in 3 days.. but I get Friday and Monday to work at home. Not too bad! And my new boss told me, what I do can be done from a beach house, a race track or wherever so to take advantage of it. I feel guilty doing that, but he told me not to, he wants us to be able to enjoy a less stressful few days. He technically died 4 times from covid so his outlook on life is totally different than it used to be. While I hope this doesn't last long, I plan to enjoy my new "4 day weekends"
I hope everyone has been doing well and staying healthy!
Congratulations on your new position and new work places.
