Interesting. Many years ago I lived in Texas and went to my very first Renaissance

Festival. The jousting, food, fun, bagpipes, costumes, etc. was entertaining and fascinating.

There is also one down here in the Gulfport, Ms. area. Not quite as big as the Texas

festival, but still quite interesting. If you ever get over this way it would be great to visit

and share a mug of mead. My wife is the Queen bee and usually has the honey for

making mead but we haven't made any just yet. She is an apiarist and president of the local bee club.

At one time I considered getting into the society for creative anachronism, but got sidetracked along the way.

They do exist. We accidentally got on one once out of Galveston. About 60 folks from the different Texas Renaissance Festivals were on the ship. We saw someone we knew and we chatted. They did invite us to join some of their activities, but we didn't have the "proper" clothing and politely declined. In the past there have also been several by some travel companies. They just have never matched our schedule. It could be a lot of fun.

I think we need a renaissance themed cruise ....

Thanks. Now for a funny twist; they play our son and his wife at the Colorado Renaissance Festival.

Awesome video! No disrespect to his Majesty and the Queen, but I like the outfits you and the Duke are wearing better.

Engaging in your other passion? I'm wondering what is in those HUGE goblets. Is that some anesthetic medicine your husband prescribed? You both look pretty happy there and now I think we all know what your 'other passion' is. Thanks for sharing this bit of very personal information with everyone here!

Look I'm almost famous. El Rancho de las... - El Rancho de las Golondrinas - Bing video
