On a cruise.

Pretty sure we will be doing a 5 day on the Dream in May since my mother in law is joining us. Wink Built in baby sitter..yay! My little one wants to see the wrestlers in Costa Maya again, and go to Passion Island again.. we may change up that 2nd excursion to a different place. It was fun, and nice etc but i know Cozumel has other places just as nice and probably a little cheaper.

You and me both! You even live closer than I do!Surprised

Glad you are finally able to use the "credit" from your other cruise. Looking forward to the final results... where, when, etc.

NOLA is a big dirty city.. i had fun there back in my single days, I haven't been back in over 20 years.. i just wanted to try out other ships, but it seems like they all end up here eventually anyway. Galveston is nice to visit, just wish the water was a bit more blue instead of brown. But it does do the trick for the weekend getaway itch

The cruise itself is fine...found this site that does international weather...if you can believe forecasts a week+ out...just might be nice to GET to NO dry. I think its a big dirty city (ooops, here we go) reminds me of the ones I escaped from. Galveston Island is different...i think its only excuse for existence is tourist attractions and the cruise terminals. Can't wait to see what theyre building there...If I lived an hour out of somebodys cruiseport it would be dangerous. for my finances...heheheh

My thoughts exact on the OBC!! I always prepay tips but always bring extra just in case. I want to make sure that the people who treat us right, get treated right.

I wanted to try to go out of NOLA but my hubby isn't a fan of the city or the drive when we can be in Galveston in 45-60 min. The front thats pushing thru needs to get delayed a day or so so you can have clear weather :) But a rainy cruise is still better than no cruise!

Second time I tried to post. oh well...this cruise is out of NO...only a 20 mi. diff from where we are...cruised out of NO many times.. the car knows the way without me. looks like itll be wet all the way. as for the other, we have that ins discussion all the time...like a tradition, and we always get it anyway...the gratuities...we prepay em, unless we're dealing with a healthy OBC...why use my money when I can use theirs to pay their charges?

The deposit she quoted me was 450 (if i take tips and vaca protection off it would be cheaper), and the cruise will probably come out to be about 300, so it really isn't a big deal that i pay the extra 150, i will spend it on board anyway.

I am doing my no rain dance for you.. i know it would be such a pain to arrive in a typhoon. Esp here in Galveston, the roads flood easy and with my luck our bus would drop us off at the very end where it isn't covered.

Usually the deposits are minimal, depending on which line and how far out it is...theres no real magic to it...what I'd really like is to drive to the port in the SUN for a change, instead of an effin typhoon!!! grrr...bah...at least I only clean the INSIDE of the car...
