Hello from Half Moon Cay cruising aboard Holland America Line's Rotterdam!

I still stay in touch with Bonnie. Her husband passed away last year. Mike was a great guy.

In March 2020, Bonnie, Mike, myself, and a couple from Virginia went on a cruise on The Adventure of the Seas. My first RCCL cruise. I immediately became a fan. I love RCCL and hope to someday cruise on their ships again.

That cruise on Adventure was it’s last one before lockdown started. I had a land trip scheduled after that cruise but had to cancel it. We were fortunate to be able to make our cruise. Other ships were already cancelling around that time.

One take away from that cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale is I love being in Florida and want to go back. I had gone a couple days early and spent one full day browsing around and sightseeing. Had outstanding seafood and visited one of the best small military museums I’ve ever been to, Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Museum which is at the airport.

Right now on break from traveling to focus on other financial goals.

The San Francisco Cruise schedule shows that Ruby Princess is now based there. Haven’t been out there yet to see her. Don’t know where Grand Princess went. She used to be based in San Francisco.

That cruise on Ruby Princess was great. Hope we can do a Cruiseline group cruise again.
Sad to hear about Mike, he was a nice guy. My thoughts go out to Bonnie and family. Next time you talk to Bonnie please tell her I send my best thoughts.
The Grand Princess is in Los Angeles, I was on her in October 2021 for a Baja cruise. We had less then 700 guest, it was a ghost ship. The majestic Princess is also in L.A. now, I'm thinking of doing a Coastal CA cruise on her in a couple months (have to see how long I get stuck on Jury Duty I'll do a last minute booking by myself.
The Adventure of the Sea's is one of my favorite ships I did a 14 night transatlantic on her years ago From San Juan to the UK.
When the plague calms down I'd be up for another group cruise.
Thanks for the update man. Nice to know your still around and doing well.
Cheers

I’ve tried to text Bonnie a few times, but never got a response. So sorry to hear about Mike. I thought he was a good person.
Still haven’t ventured to RCCL yet. Doesn’t mean we won’t, just not yet. Was the couple that joined you “GrandmaJo” and her husband?
We will sailing on the Sky Princess out of FLL, for my milestone birthday. We have always enjoyed that port and airport.
Shipmate has somewhat overshadowed Cruiseline, but the regulars here are rather fun. Once we get back to “normal” and your financial goals are met, we’ll have to do it again.
