By Cruiseline.com - Updated Aug. 25, 2020

Liberty of the Seas
Passengers enjoying activities onboard Liberty of the Seas. Liberty was refurbished in 2016, but will undergo Royal Amplified Renovations in 2021.

Despite its age, Liberty has proven itself to be a fan-favorite with Cruiseline.com users rating it as the best Royal Caribbean ship for both dining and service in 2018. In 2016, Liberty of the Seas underwent a major revitalization which added new waterslides, restaurants, and Splashaway Bay, an adult-free water park. Further renovations will take place in 2021, when Liberty will undergo additional modernization through Royal Caribbean's Royal Amplified program. Highlights of the multimillion-dollar effort include laser tag, an escape room, and Sugar Beach — a fully stocked candy store.

Like most of Royal Caribbean's fleet, Liberty of the Seas is designed for fun and adventure. Since its inaugural voyage in 2007, this Freedom-class vessel has been known for its revolutionary onboard experiences. Adrenaline addicts appreciate the ship's assortment of waterslides, which include The Perfect Storm dueling waterslides and Tidal Wave, the first-ever boomerang-style slide at sea. Younger cruisers can also join in the fun with the kid-friendly attractions in Splashaway Bay. Active travelers can catch a wave on FlowRider, Liberty's surfing simulator, or lace-up for a lap around the ship's ice skating rink. Liberty also boasts full-sized volleyball and basketball courts, bumper cars, and a 40-foot rock-climbing wall.

Liberty of the Seas itineraries and departure ports

Sailing from its homeport in Galveston, Texas, Liberty of the Seas offers 7-night round-trip cruises to destinations in the western Caribbean. Ports of call vary from cruise to cruise but often include stops in Belize, Cozumel, Montego Bay, and Grand Cayman.

Very nice... relaxing just what I needed by Stacypost

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

Relaxing which was great. Not as much entertainment as we first thought looking at schedule before leaving. Lots of kids running around unattended which was only really bad thing

You should plan ahead where to go before arriving on every port. Some are easily accessible through local trains & that will save you money.

make the most of your day, peruse your Cruise Compass that is left in your room for the next day so you don't miss out on anything that you would be interested in. Don't be afraid to try something new. You can bring onboard 2 - 750ml (standard size) bottles of wine per stateroom. we had a glass while getting ready for dinner in the room. You can also take it to the dining room and they will serve it with your dinner. Bring extension cords in your carry on, you will need them. And a night light if you have an interior room...it is pitch black when you turn off the lights.
