Fantastic 12 day Baltic Cruise

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas
Sail Date: May 27, 2013

My husband and I took the most fantastic Baltic Cruise out of Harwich, GB. Our ports included the most fantastic ports we have ever visited. The Brilliance is a beautiful ship with a wonderful and helpful staff. My husband and I are both handicapped and many of the staff went out of their way to make our cruise very comfortable and enjoyable. Our waiter and assistant waiter in the dining room were fabulous. They were excellent at predicting our wants and needs. The servers in the other eating areas were very helpful, caring our plates and getting our drinks and other needs. We would like to see the eating area "Rita's Cantina" open for lunch as well as dinner and made more accessible as well as better marketed and fully enclosed. My husband and I would love to sail on this ship again to another area.

Brilliance of the Seas

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas
Sail Date: Mar 30, 2013

My husband and I have sailed on NCL, Holland, Princess and Carnival; this was our first experience with Royal Caribbean. We always end up having a wonderful time on our vacations, no matter what mishaps occur along the way -- we always try to go with the flow. This vacation was no different; we had a great time. However, to be subjective in this review, I will present the things we loved and didn't love about RCL , the Brilliance, and this itinerary. Our first impressions, unfortunately, were not so good. At curbside, in the middle of the afternoon, with few fellow passengers arriving, there were no porters in sight. We (and the other passengers) had to struggle with multiple bags to haul them hundreds of feet over to the area where the porters would take them 3 feet further and toss them on tall carts full of luggage. Then, they boldly reminded each passenger to tip. When we didn't immediately produce money, we were directed (3 times) to the tip case -- literally a tool box...

Brilliance

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas
Sail Date: Mar 30, 2013

Good value for the cost. Well trained staff. Friendly, resepectful, knowledgeable. Food was good...food and service in Chops and Portofino were excellent! Most entertainment was great...would like to suggest a trad' l Big Band to play during formal dinner nights..maybe a small dance floor would be nice..since everyone'already dressed up!! Try Rex Allen San Francisco Swing Express...out of S.F. Played at our wedding and everyone loved them...they have played on other cruise lines. Some of the on shore excursions were not good...Guadalupe was bad. We were disappointed u didn't have Starbucks coffee...hard to beat it! Thanks for asking our opinion! We had a good time! Great Ports - Nice Mid Sized older ship

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas
Sail Date: Mar 16, 2013

This was a nice cruise with many different ports. The staff was attentive, professional and accomodating. A couple of glitches but the staff recovered well. This is an older mid sized ship. Very very clean. The staff went over board in making sure all was clean and disease free which was appreciated. Shows very good. Comedian a stitch. It took 2 days to get the water I pre-ordered and then billed me extra but the staff promptly corrected the bill. The staff does not know much about the port excursions - had to cancel the St Thomas tour since the shops were closed which was part of the tour. But the staff sent chanpagne to my cabin which was a nice touch. Chops not as good as on the big ships BUT the Minstrel dining room more than made up. The food in the dining room was top notch which I did not expect. Also the buffet was much better than the big ships. Tip - order the fresh squezzed OJ - its only $2.50. Lots of wood the ship was in great shape. Large balconies. Rooms o...

Fantastic Royal Caribbean Cruise

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas
Sail Date: Feb 16, 2013

I would highly recommed this cruise especially with Royal Caribbean and with the Brilliance of the Seas. Each island we visited on the Caribbean - Southern cruise trip was unique and well worth it.

CRUISE SHIP!

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas
Sail Date: Feb 09, 2013

We loved the itinerary except for Guadaloupe, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STOP AT THAT ISLAND. The ship itself had internet problems and did not get to email home all week long so, a little frustrating!

Wait a minute!

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas
Sail Date: Jan 26, 2013

Traditionally (on our many cruises) we look forward to having food better than at home - not so this cruise - the food was well below that of other cruises. The orange juice was so watered that it was nasty - you could (PURCHASE) fresh squeezed - something unheard of in past cruises. The staff was super - some more so than others. My bed had a broken spring that once scratched - I was careful to attempt to avoid - but this poor equipment wasn't on other cruises. They rather promise luggage delivery within a two hour frame - my daughter was very worried - she waited over four hours - all things that are negative to a relaxing vacation.

My first Royal Caribbean cruise

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas
Sail Date: Jan 12, 2013

This was my first time on Royal Caribbean everyone told me that this was the best cruise line. My thoughts were different. After having been on Celebrity I found this very different. The service was wonderful, but the food was not very good and the rooms were too small. I think that more activities could have been suggested.

Caribbean Vacation

Ship: Brilliance of the Seas
Sail Date: Dec 22, 2012

I just returned home today from a 12 day vacation with my family. The first 7 days was spent upon the Royal Caribbean, Brilliance of the Seas cruise ship line. Being that I have traveled on royal caribbean in the past, I thought this trip to be no less of enjoyable than the first time traveling on the cruise line. The disappointments of my cruise was first with the vouchers that was offered via cruise line.com. When I went to take the excursions that consisted of kayaking, snorkling and hiking. I was disappointed to learn that had to provide my own transporation to the excursion site to the location and back. That was a whopping $60.00 right off the top. That extra $60.00 was a disappointment from the $70.00 free excurstion coupon that was given to when booking my reservations. Not to mention that when I found out that the same excursion was offered on the ship for a lessor price. Also, I received an $100.00 cash back from cruiseline.com when booking my trip that was supposed to...

Deck Plans for Brilliance of the Seas

Tips for Brilliance of the Seas

Lounge above the library is an undocumented, comfortable hot-spot for wifi. The solarium is also a hot spot, but watch the cushions in the solarium if you sit on them in dry clothing -- they look dry even when wet.

7th floor aft has the largest balconies. Rom for 2 lounge chairs - a table and 2 chairs - great for room service dining.

If you're celebrating an occasion on board make sure to dine in one of the specialty restaurants on board for a meal to remember!

Go to the solarium for lunch (excellent). Go to the solarium late for a swim and Jacuzzi, it's very relaxing and a good way the prepare for sleep.

The entertainmnet was for the most part very enjoyable. The food was very good and never disappointed us.

Wonderful and fast lunch in main dining room.

Plan your excursions first thing.

If you enjoy the casinos - this one has a button to expel your cabin card - my husband was digging his out.

Don't always eat at your reserved time try the windjammer cafe for dinner.

Make sure you experience the Specialty Restaurants, like Portofinos or Chops.
