Carnival Horizon

October 2022 - 8 Night Southern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Horizon

Nonstop fun from the time we boarded

We lived it up this cruise. Meet with several crew members at Alchemy on multiple occasions. It was great being able to interact with them across the sailing. The food at the up-charge restaurants was very good. Everyone was friendly and excited to not have to wear masks anymore. Overall, a fantastic cruise vacation!

Carnival Splendor

February 2019 - 7 Night Mexican Riviera (Los Angeles Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Splendor

3 out of my 4 cruises have been on the Splendor. She's such a unique ship with the design elements and that's what i like most about the ship. She's big and can transport a lot of people, but not so big that you can't get from one end to the other end in five minutes. Some pinch-points can be a little frustrating when going from the Spectacular Lounge to the El Moroccan for the comedy show, but we made it work. I'm going to miss this ship in all its Splendor (see what I did there?) when she travels down to Australia.

Carnival Conquest

October 2018 - 8 Night Southern Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Conquest

I've become quite familiar with the layout of the Conquest class of ships. It's easy to navigate and there are plenty of activities happening during the chose to keep from getting stale. The itinerary to us to the far South Caribbean and it was great! The weather cooperated most of the time and while the seas got a little choppy on the final days, the ship kept moving through the water as if nothing was happening. Leigh was a good cruise director. He seemed to have gotten his bearings pretty quick on the ship knowing he had just gotten on with us. There were two new shows I hadn't seen before and they simply "wowed" us. Totally unexpected, but definitely welcome! I would sail on another Conquest class ship without any hesitation. Love the themed elements and how they differ so much from ship to ship.

Carnival Splendor

December 2017 - 9 Night Eastern Caribbean Carnival Journeys (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Splendor

Atlanta nightmare, Carnival Splendor!

This cruise really sold me on the Carnival brand. They really do care about your experience from the sailing, too the excursions, too your personal enjoyment. The length was perfect and the amount of days at sea really helped to break up the stresses that some let's bring on. Great Serenity area with exception of noisy children playing mini golf above. Can't wait to cruise again!

September 2017 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Splendor

East goes West

Had an absolute blast on this, my first cruising experience. Was nice to be able to break away from everyday life and just take in the sights. Already booked my next cruise, and hope to hit some of the ports originally scheduled.

Cruise tips

Celebrity Apex

Celebrity Apex

Plan your days appropriately! Be ready for reduced dining hours/options for breakfast and lunch. Don’t miss Eden Restaurant!

La Romana, Dominican Republic

Avoid the “Altos de Chavon” tours. The development is made to look ancient, but it’s only 50 years old and is a definite tourist trap for money.

Carnival Horizon

Carnival Horizon

Relax and have fun! Be sure to check out the secret decks on the front of the ship. https://youtube.com/shorts/xb27ekdnWKY?feature=share

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras

Don’t kiss the shows on the Center Stage in the evenings. They’re great!

Ketchikan, Alaska

Quaint town. Didn't book an excursion here. Just walked around and checked out the local shops and restaurants.

Juneau, Alaska

Went to Mendenhall Glacier and Glacier Gardens Tour. Booked through Carnival. Had a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Awesome to be able to get so close to the scenic items. Only downside is that we didn't have extra time to explore the city. Shortest port day on the itinerary.

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

Beautiful scenery. Loved everything about this area. Didn't know what to expect and was blown away by the huge mountains and forests flanking the ship nearby.

Skagway, Alaska

Friendly sleepy town. Booked our own excursion, not through Carnival. Did the Jewell Gardens tour and glass blowing, only we made a glass flower instead of ornament. Staff was super friendly and enthusiastic. Spent time in town and enjoyed the shops and restaurants.

Carnival Legend

Carnival Legend

Plan to see comedy shows after theater shows. You're already in the vicinity and you'll be able to get great seats.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Such a neat experience getting to enjoy this port overnight. We opted to stay in a hotel in the Zona Romantica and what fun it was. Lots of action in the area and great food! Would love to do this again. 28-hours in port is great! Might have to book a separate trip to PV to explore more!

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Loved getting to see the former Spruce Goose some getting used again. Carnival did a great job renovating this cruise port. Definitely a very unique interior and write memorable.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Did the “North Coast Jeep Tour” excursion, booked through Carnival. Was a fantastic time!

Willemstad, Curacao

13 hours in port simply was not long enough. Booked a great tour through sandandstillettos.com and got to see some great sights and enjoy wonderful food. The main port area (Willamstead) was filled with plenty of things to do once we got done with the private tour. Overall a very friendly island.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

This port was the perfect island getaway. Had to use the water shuttle service to get to the land and once there, everything was included (sans alcohol) as if we were still on the ship. If you're looking forward to a day on the beach with no worries, Princess Cays is for you!

St. John's, Antigua

Not much to do in the port town. Next time will venture out on an excursion to enjoy more of what Antigua had to offer.

Grand Turk Island

The island is beautiful. Also devastated from hurricane, but glad to see things up and running. Annoying part were the hawkers trying to get me to buy services. Easy

Be ready for pink zebra printed polka dots and black tile with lime green grout lines!

Carnival Splendor

Carnival Splendor

Be prepared to see lots of zebra printed pink polka dots all over the park. It can come as a shock at first, but after a while, you'll stop noticing it as much.
