Carnival Splendor first debuted in 2008, and is the only ship in Carnival Cruise Line’s Splendor class. The vessel is a large ship carrying up to 3,006 passengers, and sails to a variety of destinations including Alaska, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico, and even the Panama Canal.

Passengers can catch some rays in the Serenity adults-only area, enjoy a musical production show, attend a cooking demonstration, or catch the crook during CLUE: The Murder Mystery game. Barbecue fans will love the new Ol’ Fashioned BBQ venue onboard Carnival Splendor, serving up smoked beef, pork butt, and grilled chicken with sides like potato salad, baked beans, and mac and cheese. There’s also a burrito bar, Tandoor Indian food, the steakhouse, Mongolian Wok, and the traditional buffet and main dining room.

Kids love the onboard Seuss at Sea program where they can meet The Cat in the Hat and other Dr. Seuss characters, attend a Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast, and make Seuss-themed crafts. A pop-up Build-A-Bear Workshop, mini golf, the Twister Waterslide, and kids parties round out the children's offerings on board Splendor and ensure your little ones will never experience a dull moment.

A Splendid Vacation Aboard the Carnival Splendor by Santoemma

The ship's staff and crew were wonderful. Mostly foreigners, but all spoke plenty of English. The onboard dining was excellent. We recommend a dinner at the Pinnacle, it's worth the extra $35 / person, just once, at least. This was our first cruise and it was an overall positive experience. We didn't like the photography scam, nor the constant push to buy jewelry or watches which really aren't priced to sell. However, the overall experience was great.

Its getting worse, the sauna and steam rooms are almost nonexistent for non-spa users. by samin1733

Go back to the way it was before, not just catering for the super rich people. Also no double occupancy charge for single person.

My wife and I were extremely burnt out and were looking forward to the "disconnect" we needed a lot of rest and effortlessness and boy did we get it. Thank you carnival. by abart63

Carnival has really stepped up their game. From the rapid embarkation, fantastic quality of food at the main dining room, much improved debarkation and technology improvements (Sail and sign Card) this was our favorite cruise ever.

Don't sign up for the spa / thermal suite. Small pool, small locker rooms. Much better on NCL

Check out the Taste Bar. Great for a quick little bite while walking through the ship, without having to go to the buffet.

Take some time a week before embarkation day to study the lay out of the ship to help navigate the ship. If you're not a smoker, I would use deck 6 to go forward to avoid the casino. Unfortunately, the coffee shop is next to the casino keeping us from it.
