Talk to strangers, we met people from all over and most were more than happy to learn and to inform, about the present and previous cruises.

If available, take the Ultimate Ship Tour. I will review it when I post a review on Leg Two of our back to back 10/28 Sailing.

I'm not sure if it was the itinerary or just princess clientele in general, but there was a large majority of elderly people. Our table mates at dinner were in their late 80s and people we sat with at breakfast and lunch were all retired. Many very lovely people, but would have been nice to spend more time with people our own age. Over all the activities on the ship were somewhat sedate.

Don't choose this ship just because it has a beautiful scenic bar on top because it is always closed.

For a first time cruiser, I say, don't be afraid to ask questions or help from the staff; they are there to help you. Also, I think, the most important thing to remember is that you are there to enjoy every moment of it - DO NOT sweat the small stuff. Don't be a NEGA-tron and find all the wrong things. One word: ENJOY!

As someone whose first cruise was with Carnival I had very high expectations that were sadly not met. Unless you plan on swimming and drinking all day in the sun, there isn’t anything really “fun” to do.

There is very little time allowed off board in Mexico. Plan wisely. Get to theater room at least 30 minutes before show if you want a good seat.

Being that I’ve been on larger ships like the Carnival Vista and Royal Caribbean Oasis and paid the same amount of money. My advice is to go for the newer and larger ships, so much more worth it. You will thank me in the long run if you have to travel to get to one. I will never cruise Princess ever again.

Please sail the Ruby Princess, you won't be sorry. The only thing I would change was our dinner time; we had 'Anytime Dining'. To get a reservation, a simple call at 8 am every morning was required to schedule your dinner reservation. I could not do this because I was busy having fun at 8 am. We would have to wait for a table each night. However, the staff did their very best to get us a table in a timely manner. I will book traditional dining in the future, but it was nice to have this other option.
