Review summary

Nice, relaxing, somewhat sedate compared to others we've been on. First time on Princess. May wait until we're a little older before sailing with them again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was quick and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was generally very good. Buffet options were limited compared to Royal Carribean. Dining room food was very good except for breakfast.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools are very nice. Decent size for a ship. The fitness center was decent.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The comedian and musical act were both great. We looked in on the stage show, but did not stay. It didn't look very lively

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward was great. Many other personnel around the ship were very friendly and helpful, though not all. Dining room service was very good but at times not always great. Sometimes we waited a very long time for orders to be taken or between courses.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was always spotless. Staff did a very good job of keeping it clean and well-maintained. The layout of the ship was a little bit choppy.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable and a decent size, and always clean. We were concerned about being on a higher deck and near the front, but rarely had any issue with the ships movement. Only one evening was in a little bit rocky, but not bad at all

Ship tip

I'm not sure if it was the itinerary or just princess clientele in general, but there was a large majority of elderly people. Our table mates at dinner were in their late 80s and people we sat with at breakfast and lunch were all retired. Many very lovely people, but would have been nice to spend more time with people our own age. Over all the activities on the ship were somewhat sedate.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5
Went to straight from the airport to the port so did not see much of the city. The port is very industrial but was interesting to watch cargo loading across from the ship.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

3 out of 5
The visit to Dona Engracia was very nice. Interesting and fun. Lunch was good. We were to visit a tile factory when in fact we were taken to a tile store. Also the stop at the jewelry store was unnecessary. The guide was excellent but some of the stops were just so-so.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
We took an excursion that took us up into the mountains where we visited a place where a man made cement tiles and gave a demonstration. Also visited a small home based bakery. Also visited an old mining town, Concordia I believe?. Overall a good excursion.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
Nice port. Did not do an excursion. The time and port is too short. People are very aggressive trying to get you to buy things. Lots of nice restaurants in town. Much wasn't open early when we got off the ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy disembarkation and easy getting luggage. We had been given a very early disembarkation time and our flight was later. The customer service person changed that for us without question and gave us a later time.
