Princess should improve the food quality & guests services. This will be my first & last cruise on Princess. Royal Caribbean was so much better.

Great Cruise through the New Locks by marialos

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

Overall there were a lot of sea days with only a few ports of call. Could have added a Caribbean port to the itinerary for some more interest. Was disappointed when I booked there was an additional Pacific side port of call that was cancelled with no replacement.

What's going on at Princess?! by KenCrabbs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Ruby Princess

This was our 44th cruise, but our first with Princess. Friends and relatives had raved about it over time, so we were looking forward to a premium experience. We really wanted to like Princess, but within a few days, we realized we'd made a big mistake in booking this cruise. The food selection was limited and bland. There was no enforced hand washing (we did it voluntarily), so we weren't surprised when we came down with the flu on the fourth day. We spent most of the remainder of the cuise in our cabin. The room service menu was extremely limited, so we ventured out for bad meals in the buffet - diligently washing our hands and staying away from others. We were so sick of that food that late in the cruise, we went to the main dining room to ask for take out from the regular menu. They were able to arrange to have the meals sent back to our cabin with room service. It was one of my favorite dishes - Beef Wellington served with spinach and a twice-baked potato. However, I only finished the spinach. The Wellington was tough and bland and the potato was very dry. We loved the ability to track our travel mates with the medallion and the app. However, aside from that, the app wasn't very good. We couldn't find important information like the service hours of various things throughout the ship. I don't know how the Ruby Princess compares to other ships in the fleet; however, based on our experience, it feels like Carnival Corporation has essentially abandoned what was once a premium cruiseline and are milking it dry.

Casual Fun by HappyTwosome

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

It was an enjoyable, relaxing cruise that stopped at ports we’ve visited before so we just took it day by day. The ambience on board was way more casual than any of the many pre-pandemic Princess cruises we have taken in the past and I realized that I packed too many “nice’ clothes. The medallion technology was amazing and made everything easy, from boarding to ordering drinks and anything else.

The guest relations staff has to be the worst ever. We had all kinds of booming noises outside our room that literally shook our door and walls. They did nothing for six days and told us it was waves. Finally someone came up and noticed the problem. by markwclymer230

We've had 14 wonderful cruises. Our 15th one was awful. Princess should be ashamed of themselves.

Excellent Cruise But Don't Pre-Book Spa Appointments & Check Your Charges Before You Leave by MBPFL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

This Princess Cruise during the New Year's Holiday was excellent. It was a great way to celebrate while getting some much-needed rest and relaxation. However, the issues we have with faulty billing because of the huge disconnect between online booking system and the onboard spa have all but erased those good memories. We are left frustrated and disappointed in trying to get back over $800 dollars we were overcharged on the ship. The substandard level of care we have experienced with Princess staff off-ship (Customer Service) is so vastly different that that what we experienced with the excellent staff on-ship. Why is this the case? This may just be the reason we don't ever go on a Princess Cruise again.

Holidays in the Caribbean by valerievollmer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

100% I would do a cruise again. Loved visiting places, but keep in mind you are not seeing the best part of the country, as some of the best parts are away from the ports, and hopefully you have time to see them. Really had a great experience, and my husband who was very critical of cruises really enjoyed himself as well. We had great downtime and relaxation.

Interesting by mesinvestor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

The food and dessert were good but not exemplary. The dessert all seem like it had the same moose base. The entertainment was very repetitive same bands same music different rooms. Other than that it was just basically different types of trivia. The staff and crew have very positive exciting attitudes, and we're always helpful

Great time with the family by daxlopez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Ruby Princess

Good times with family, loved the big screen TV to watch sports and movies while in the pool or hot tub. Food and shows were excellent. The ship attracts older guests which know the difference between average food, service, and shows and really good ones. No wonder older people like this cruise. I sent with my family including 3 kids and I would definitely go back.

Princess is over hyped! by rvweenies

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

We have 10 cruises on Celebrity. There is no comparison. This was over priced for the true blue light special that it is. In my opinion, Princess has been over hyped, you should look for a quality cruise elsewhere!
