I feel that for the money it is worth it. This was the third time we did this cruise so I think I was just not wowed because it was not new to me. If you have never done this trip you would like it. I also rather spend more time in port but this cruise has alot of sea days.
Us getting onboard and disembarking was very efficient. The international cafe was the best place to eat to avoid long buffet lines during the day. Go early to get any seats in the show they are always full. But after dealing with the officers and front desk I prefer another ship that has better customer relations.
Great cruise and I'd do it again! We absolutely loved our balcony room and we will always choose that type of room. The food and entertainment were exceptional! The entertainers were enthusiastic and friendly. We didn't use the pools because it was too cool outside for us but the people using the pools seemed to be having a great time. We chose Anytime dining which was perfect for us.
We embarked two hours later then scheduled and that was a bit intimidating for us first time cruisers. We wondered if we were really going to set sail on our adventure.
Having the kiosk available to check our balance was very helpful.
The directions given to us us for disembarkation and the daily activities delivered to our room was great!
Overall we had a wonderful experience with Princess cruises.
Find a better cruise. The port times were not long enough, and the food, although good was not exceptional and nothing to write home about. The spa was awful and overpriced and the activities were short and underwhelming. This may be the right cruise for you if you have a lot of children and different ages
I had an excellent vacation. I got to see California at an easy pace and did not feel rushed even though we covered so much. The ship was lovely and provided lots to do on your days at sea. Take advantage of the spa it is well worth it
The entertainment exceeded my expectations. The cabin was comfortable and clean but the bunk beds got in the way. The toilet had a disagreeable smell when the seat cover was raised. The meals were satisfactory and the International Cafe plus the availability of hot dogs and hamburgers was great.
we had a really bad experience in the fitness center on Friday. many complaints from other passengers about the music coming from our spin class. the whole scene became very uncomfortable as our instructor was getting into it with an employee from the spa. and passengers were attacking my wife and I like we had control over the music. we requested a refund and were denied. for a lousy $12 class. we will most likely not cruise princess again.
Everything was great except the Customer Service Manager Gidea van der Linde. The Engineer admitted that there was a design flaw in the ship. But they refused to rectify the situation when they could have.
This cruise was fabulous. Great food, great Service, amazing cities to visit and so much to do. We wanted a bit more upscale cruising, which is why we chose Princess. It was a great compromise between wanting a cruise that was not horribly expensive and had great service and options. It was great for a romantic getaway for 2 and we cannot wait to go back!
Honestly, I would not recommend Princess to friends / family.
My husband and I would not book another Princess cruise again. Here are my reasons
1. We are in our 30's-40's, this cruise or cruise line seems to be geared to an older crowd (60+)
There were no fun, younger persons activities on board. Which leads me to number 2.
2. Two days at sea were simply boring as hell. Other than drinking and going to the pool, there was very little for us to do.
3. We really did not get to experience Cabo at all. Princess needs to change their itinerary because such a short time is Cabo was really disappointing. It was the nicest place of all ports visited. and we got to spend no time there.
4. The food in the main dining room was mediocre at best. The specialty dining restaurants we re far better!
Overall it was a good cruise with no major hitches. Only thing was the air conditioning on the ship. Wasn't to impressed with the alternate dining in the Share restaurant. The Crown Grill was excellent as usual. The Voice of the Ocean talent competition was really good.
This was our first cruise, I joined my two sisters and my mom. First, the cruise itself was nice; however, the bartenders were rude every time we asked for our drinks which I paid almost $500 for the premeium drink package. The pools were all super small . The restaurants were not too impressive either and servers not being friendly either.
And, the most importantly, our room had some kind of bugs where all of us were getting big bites. We raised ourcoern with the staff but they never bother giving us any mediciationn instead of making us pay for it and also, for the whole week, they didn’t even changed the beddings in the book.
This is my second time on the Ruby Princess. She is a beautiful ship. Alaska is breathtaking and should be experienced at least once by everyone. Even if you think you don't want to go there, you will love it. We loved every part of this cruise and would do it again in a heartbeat.
the one question I always ask myself after a trip is would I return!!!! Beyond a doubt I certainly would travel Princess Cruises. Too bad the staff would change because everyone from the Hotel General Mgr, Maitre D Hotel were so accommodating & polite. They kill you with "kindness"....they fulfill every moment with fond memories. I was thrilled to spend my precious time cruising and especially with Ruby Princess. Can't wait for my next venture.
