Review summary
This Princess Cruise during the New Year's Holiday was excellent. It was a great way to celebrate while getting some much-needed rest and relaxation. However, the issues we have with faulty billing because of the huge disconnect between online booking system and the onboard spa have all but erased those good memories. We are left frustrated and disappointed in trying to get back over $800 dollars we were overcharged on the ship. The substandard level of care we have experienced with Princess staff off-ship (Customer Service) is so vastly different that that what we experienced with the excellent staff on-ship. Why is this the case? This may just be the reason we don't ever go on a Princess Cruise again.Embarkation

Ship tip
DO NOT PRE-PAY/PRE-BOOK SPA APPOINTMENTS ONLINE & CHECK BILL BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE CRUISE! It has been three months since the trip, and I am still trying to get credit for spa treatments that were double charged. Based on previous cruise experiences and not getting spa appointments at the best times, I thought it might be wise to book and pre-pay them online in advance for this cruise. I was so wrong! First off, the spa did not know about all of our prepaid treatments and when they were scheduled. Luckily, I brought the receipt of my online booking and payment. After our treatments, we found it extremely odd that the therapists kept asking how much was the price of our treatments. I kept telling them that it should not matter since it was already paid and that I should only be charged for gratuity. I noticed that during the cruise, the spa started discounting treatments to get more people into the facility. I realized by paying online in advance for the appointments, I was paying more than if we waited until we got on the cruise. I didn't think we could do anything about it until the last day of the cruise when we heard from other passengers that they cancelled their pre-paid massages appointments and re-booked them in the spa to take advantage of the lower price. How frustrating that we did not think of doing this and complaining about being overcharged! I was on the cruise for much needed relaxation. I was not there to use my precious time to figure out how not to be swindled and taken advantage of. Unlike previous cruises I have been on, we were told that our final bill would be emailed to us, and we did not have to review the final bill before we left the ship. I should have reviewed all the charges incurred while on ship because I would have clearly caught being double charge for two spa treatments that cost me over $800. Instead, I trusted Princess to charge me correctly and now I have been working OVER THREE MONTHS now to get a refund on my credit card. You don't want to be in a situation to have to contact Princess Customer Service. They are very slow. Please check your bill before you get off the boat. I finally got a response last week from Princess Customer Service and I was told that One World Spa needs to review my issues and Princess can't (I say WON'T) do anything about this egregious mistake. I hope it won't take another three months to hear from One World Spa. This issue has left me with such frustration and has taken up so much time, that I don't want anyone else to experience this.
