Ruby Princess overview

Ruby Princess
Ruby Princess was refurbished in 2018 and aims to keep passengers entertained at all times.

Embodying Princess Cruises’ reputation for top-notch entertainment, Ruby Princess aims to keep passengers entertained at all times. Ruby Princess was refurbished in 2018 adding several amenities. There's now The Salty Dog Gastropub where cruisers can grab a burger or street taco. The ship also received upgrades to its Camp Discovery experience, which provides kids and teens with engaging, age-appropriate activities. In 2020, will launch the OceanMedallion program. This will offer cruisers a wearable device to improve onboard service through quicker embarkation, easier payment, and interactive navigation.

From wandering street performers in the old-world Piazza to lavish Broadway-style productions and original musicals in the ultramodern Princess Theater, entertainment is featured throughout the ship. Talented passengers can even take the stage in The Voice of the Ocean, Ruby Princess’s cruise-long singing competition inspired by the hit TV show.

With its Vegas-style casino and full-service Lotus Spa and Fitness Center, Ruby Princess also offers many traditional cruise-ship favorites. Active travelers can join a volleyball game at the ship’s sports court or play a round of mini-golf with the kids. After dark, cruisers can find live music and dancing at Club Fusion or enjoy the poolside Movies Under the Stars. And when the day is done, the Princess SLEEP rejuvenation program means a good night’s rest in preparation for exciting ports of call.

Ruby Princess itineraries and departure ports

Cruises range from 1-day Pacific coastal voyages that travel between Seattle and Vancouver to 31-day South Pacific crossings. The ship also sails to Australia and New Zealand, the Mexican Riviera, Fiji, and the Hawaiian Islands. Several specialty cruises are available, including Tasmanian voyages and Pacific wine country trips.

Before you book

This ship is best for: With its first-rate entertainment and varied dining venues, Ruby Princess appeals to retired couples and families looking for a traditional cruise.

You should know: While there are several active nightclubs, it isn't a party ship, and its longer cruises generally attract a 50-plus demographic.

Things to do on Ruby Princess

Exuding old-world charm, Ruby Princess’  Piazza is a hub of onboard activity. 801 Ruby Princess tips

Explore the entire ship. There is an aft elevator hidden away which goes all the way to deck 19 for golf, BB, and a great observation deck. All the way forward on deck 14 there is a door that is not marked which leads to the observation area on top of the bridge. This area gives the best view along both sides of the ship, and of course a panoramic view forward.
