I had a perfect ocean view cabin on the 7th floor near midship. Close to everything, casino, onboard shopping, elevator to the poolside deck, etc.

Try the specialty restaurants...as the buffet and dining room are simply just "ok"

The Brazilian Churrascaria dining in Moderno was special and well worth the extra $20 per person cost. The regular freestyle dining exceeded our expectations.

The freestyle dining was just what we'd hoped for, relaxed and easy. No pressure to be someplace at a certain time. Some people did dress up, others didn't. The food was so good we didn't have any interest in the specialty restaurants.

Go outside the port area in Costa Maya for cheaper cab rates, always agree to the price in advance!

For off ship excursions on your own (ie. where to shop, which beach to go to, etc) speak to Simon & Oxy. they'll point you in the right direction (don't listen to the cab drivers in Cozumel, they will try to drive you out to some far distant beach for more $$ then a good nearby beach).

Don't miss the Observation room on Deck 12. It is tucked away and we didn't find it until the second to the last day - it is a lovely space. Best bar on deck is the Sports Bar; our bartender, Cy, was fantastic. If you want to get great photos, seek out Vladamir.

Popcorn and g re at wings and soup and dip and chips for free in the nice sports bar. Same as the Norwegian Spirit

The subway in Vancouver from the dock to the airport was very easy and inexpensive, only $4 per person.

Rent a car from Seward to Anchorage. There are beautiful hikes to do on your way to the airport. We hiked Ptarmigan Lake Trail.

It was great to have NCL Sun at the Anchorage Train Depot to take our bags directly to the ship on the day of Embarkation.

The tourist center in Skagway offer a movie, lecture and wonderful tours of the town with a pamphlet showing all of the buildings which serve as mini museum. Excellent - don't miss! As an added bonus it is free.

On rainy days there is not enough seating in buffet dining room. Aft outdoor buffet was nice to discover for bkfst. Moderno a quieter place for lunch. French specialty restrnt was excellent.
