Try the Specialty Restaurants, especially Moderno, the Japanese restaurant and Cagney's - excellent food. The service at Cagney's was not the best, but the other two were fabulous all the way around.

Book Restaurant and Entrainment choices well before your cruise date. We learned on our first cruise that choices become limited if you wait until you are aboard. We decided to make one premium dining change on our second day and the restaurant we wanted was booked until 9:15 PM on the last day.

We enjoyed eating at the specialty restaurants; food was excellent and there was an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere. The dining package for $78 was a good deal.

Get the Norwegian app for you phone if you're traveling with people. It's $7 a day but worth every penny. You can call & text people with the app while onboard. Definitely came in handy!

You can purchase a case of water before you get on the ship and bring it onto the ship and put it in your mini fridge.

This ship holds (3900) the pool is very small and you really cant use the pool. The H2O deck area for sun bathing is packed, you cant even get a lounge chair, if you do you cant get in it;one on top of another. NOT complaining, this is cruising, I am just pointing out what to expect.

The smaller dining rooms (TASTE AND SAVOR) are WAY faster than the large dining room. The bar on the 7th deck has great food and you can ask for the food to go...they will pack it and you can take it to your room. The party starts at 10:30 at H2O and the party animals continue on to Bliss.

Loved the private island. Since we did not book excursions, we were tired of the same shopping at each location.

The Getaway is a really big ship. It had a lot of places to go and do things. However, because of its size, it also has a lot of people. Almost 5,000 cruisers and 1700 staff make for a lot of people in a pretty small pool area. Food and beverage was very good.

Use Shore Excursions Group for all your excursions. They all did a wonderful job and you can save 50% or more. Also I really liked eating dinner at Taste. They gave me wonderful service. Savor was also good.

Upgrade to larger room, Find out times of outdoor attractions and get there first to avoid 2 hr waits, don't see any shows in the atrium (horrible location, packed liked sardines). Dont play mini golf (the course is flawed in so many ways and damaged), Try the Prime Rib.Bring magnets / hooks to hang

Be sure and try the complimentary restaurants. The food is really good and it's so nice to be served in beautiful surroundings. The buffet is always available for convenience. Check the daily activities scheduled. They are a lot of fun!
