If you wish to merely go from point A to point B with quantity's being more important than quality, Princess is for you. If you'd like to experience quality WITH quantity, book passage on a Cunard ship.

Expect a great time, especially if you are 55 and above, as almost all on this voyage were since school was in session. Many drawings in the jewelry, watch presentations, which you must be present at to win. I won 2!!!! which never happens, a watch and necklace for my wife

Take a bottle of disinfecting spray with you. Don't touch the elevator buttons, don't touch the staircases rail and constantly wash your hands. My husband and I did all three and the last two days of the cruise we came down with the Flu. We haven't had a cold or flu in 30 years and this put us to bed. An awful lot of sick people got on this cruise. Every single bus tour had five to six people coughing their lungs out. Obviously they all LIED about their health condition when they boarded the ship.

Ask before you book if they have a private cruise group onboard. We had a 800 person group called Concerts at Seas onboard. They took over club venues in the evenings and had their own entertainers. Very frustrating to many of us since we couldn’t use some major facilities onboard.

Things are never perfect on any ship however the cruise director(Corey) and his entire team were so great especially on deck part nights. We truly loved the Love boat disco deck party night. That night it seemed like the whole ship was on deck 16 dancing the night away and the professional dancers also got into it with a great show!! We never danced so much that night. Well done Princess!!

The Riviera deck (14) is great (we've been up there on last two cruises). You can walk aft and there's an adult pool a half deck up and the aft entrance to the buffet on 15. Very convenient. We love morning room service even if only coffee and pastry. Delivery in half hour increments but be prepared to get the door at least 5 minutes early as they are PROMPT (+ in my book)

The Crown Princess is a nicely designed ship. Although it is an older vessel, it is well maintained. An upgrade would improve the ship, and I believe it is scheduled for one.

Go to relax and not expect too much in excellence. It’s a fun ship but service and food quality were lacking this time

Get involved with the activities. But, in order to get a good seat at the shows go to the theater an hour ahead of time. The theater fills up fast and has a very impractical configuration.

Don’t get the drink package! Have to wait in line all the time and had to go to four places to get a bottle of water one day

While we did enjoy our Crown Princess cruise, there were things that could have made it really memorable. The pool at the Sanctuary should have always been open! There is no excuse... Most especially when passengers are paying an extra $40 a day to enjoy it.

We both had a soda package and a coffee package. Every cruise line (and maybe every ship) but we could get cafe lattes without being dinged as well as tea. The specialty drinks that came under our coffee package were generally too sweet and not our favorite thing.

Like an amusement park, there are many things to do but not enough time to do them all. Be selective and take time to sit and relax with one of the most calm views in the world - the ocean. We took advantage of Stargazing nights which is 1/2 hour learning about the constellations. We chose a different nighttime venue to enjoy live music and shows. A one time treat in the spa whatever it is...haircut, massage, manicure...should be a stop to feel pampered for the day.

As soon as you get on board the ship head to the Sanctuary and make your reservations for the entire trip. It fills up fast. We boarded the ship at 2:00 and got to the Sanctuary at 2:30 all of the reservations were almost full for the week. We found out later that there are some people who do back-to-back cruises on the same ship. So they're on the ship for 2-3 weeks. Crazy, I know. So they get to book all of their activities while everyone else is standing in line waiting to board the ship. Great for them, bad for everyone else. Check the menus of each dining venue in the morning. We found that some of the food in specialty dining is served for free in the main dining halls and sometimes the buffets (desserts and entrees). Not always, but sometimes if you can plan it right. Why are we paying $30 for steak at Crown Grill when we can get it for free in the main dining hall? This was only my second cruise, so I'm learning the tricks as I go along.
