Review summary

Love the Princess Line, but they definitely need to improve on two major counts. One and most important monitor the people waiting in line to get on the ship for sickness. A person who is coughing their lungs out while waiting to board and puts "No Illness" on their form is obviously lying and can't be trusted. That is why people spend money on insurance, so they don't pass their cooties to others and can cancel their trip. Second, more disinfecting needs to happen. I would suggest that in the food court, the food is put on your place by the ship's staff. Everybody is touching the spoons and most probably didn't wash they hands on the way to the dining room - Disgusting thought but very true. I saw one person sneeze in to this hand and touch a serving spoon right after that. Needless to say I jumped way in front of him.

Assigned dining was Excellent. Anytime dining not so good. They all acted like waiters in training.

First cruise that I don't see a whole of disinfecting going on. We are use to seeing the staircases and the elevators constantly being cleaned. DIdn't see it one single time this cruise and there were a large amount of people really sick on the cruise from day one.

For the price you can't ask for more. One thing I have always liked about Princess, the closets are quite big and they actually have hangars in them.

Ship tip

Take a bottle of disinfecting spray with you. Don't touch the elevator buttons, don't touch the staircases rail and constantly wash your hands. My husband and I did all three and the last two days of the cruise we came down with the Flu. We haven't had a cold or flu in 30 years and this put us to bed. An awful lot of sick people got on this cruise. Every single bus tour had five to six people coughing their lungs out. Obviously they all LIED about their health condition when they boarded the ship.

Sad to see the damage on all of ports. Lots of sick people on the bus. On the way back to the ship it started pouring rain and the security people kept us all out in the rain for no reason. They had two files to go in the ship but they only had one operating. Would you think that if it's pouring outside (a lot of older people, some with COPD) that they would speed up security and let people back on the ship. Very disappointed with this. I believe that this is one of the possible causes for the FLU we picked up. You don't keep 70 years old in the freezing rain.

Or someone with asthma could have an attack, lots of reasons people cough that has nothing to do with a contagious illness.

Just cause someone is coughing doesn't mean they arw sick. I have allergies and when around certain smells my nose starts running and i srart coughing especially with all the mixtures of perfumes and colognes while standing in a line...so dont judge by that as i woul2be or could be someone coughing but am by ni means sick or contagious...

Nice comprehensive and fair review! Hopefully you passed along your disinfecting and sickness screening recommendations to Princess. I’ve only experienced great hygiene on other Princess ships so hopefully what you describe was ship specific. Also a good review to support bringing your own sanitary wipes/hand sanitizer to help keep your own hands clean after touching public railings, buttons, etc. 🍸
