Review summary

We had 3 families, my two daugthers, their husbands and 3 grandkids (8, 6, 2.5). Although not many kids the staff was wonderful. Their dinner was the first thing out of the kitchen

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Breezed right thru and onboard in no time

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Service excellent in main DR. Specialty (Italian) had wonderful selection. Great service. Bar service was excellent. Had the beverage package and Platinum account so got "premium" upgrades on all drinks.

Vines Wine Bar

5 out of 5

I'm a wine drinker so love Vines. They have wines by glass not available in other bars and after 5 PM complimentary sushi or tapas. Great place for pre-dinner stop

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools were closed a couple of days due to high seas Cloudy on last day so didn't get much of a chance to use pool.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Pretty clean but ship is dated and is scheduled for refurbishment March 2018. Should be spectacular after that

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
VEry clean. Comfortable bed. We had a group of 4 cabins and being able to open the balcony partitions was perfect so we could go from room to room

Ship tip

The Riviera deck (14) is great (we've been up there on last two cruises). You can walk aft and there's an adult pool a half deck up and the aft entrance to the buffet on 15. Very convenient. We love morning room service even if only coffee and pastry. Delivery in half hour increments but be prepared to get the door at least 5 minutes early as they are PROMPT (+ in my book)

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

3 out of 5
Went to Margheritaville but didn't stay long

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Wonderful shore excursion (Lifestyle VIP Beach). Drinks and buffet included and actual sun bed not just a lounge. We love it

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Incredible experience. We left our luggage outside night before as our flight wasn't till 11:30. We were scheduled to be in dining room @ 8AM for disembarkation. We arrived at 7:45 and were told they just called our group to proceed off. We were the only ones on the gangway. Retrieved our luggage, got a porter, breezed through customs (remember that customs declaration form you completed the night before? Gone they no longer use it), got a taxi, checked our luggage, whisked thru security and were sitting in Delta Sky Club literally 45 minutes after getting to the d-embarkation lounge. Amazing. Hint: Everyone is trying to get an elevator with their luggage. Take the first elevator you can get on even if it's going up. At least you'll be on when it heads down.

Princess has excellent customer service! We enjoyed the same experience in the dining room with our 2 year old grandson. Our waiters were excellent dealing with a toddler! He loved going to the dining room because they treated him like a prince! 🍸
