Review summary

The cruise was great; however, since it was a short 5 day cruise they tried to squeeze in 8 days worth of events on the ship. We were not able to see/do the majority. At times there were 4 to 5 different events going on at the same time. There was also a group of 350 on the ship that held private events. Those events ran over and in to other scheduled events.

Embarkation was the fastest we have come across so far. I'm not sure if that was because we hit a good time or not.

The comedian was great. Super funny. The magician/comedian initially was pretty funny; however his last show I didn't feel was all that good.

Service and Staff

Our room steward - Emmanuel - was awesome. We did have some issues with staff from several different bars. They were not always friendly and were quite slow. At times completely ignoring people who had been waiting.

Overall the ship is great. You can tell it is an older ship and is ready for an update.

For those who like to snorkel - we had a great time on a snorkel excursion. The island itself from what we saw is beautiful and the people are very friendly.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

We did a waterfall excursion (Damajagua) - very strenuous. The water currents and undercurrents were quite strong. This excursion wasn't what we were expecting but we did have a great time.

Disembarkation

Our disembarkation time was set for 9:25 am; however, they were running ahead of schedule. We were able to get off the ship and get our luggage within 10 minutes.

We were on crown last year. Our first cruise with princess. As you said the embarkation was the smoothest I’ve ever experienced and very efficient, princess really have this cracked. Disembarkation the same, we wished we hadn’t had to leave the cabin so early but we headed up to skywalkers with a coffee from the international cafe and relaxed. Only one other couple discovered it too. Very peaceful end to the cruise.
