I hadn’t been on a Princess Cruise before and wanted to compare them to other cruise lines I sail on. I would probably cruise with them again.

Specialty Restaurants were wonderful. Horizon Buffet wasn’t anything special. Lots of food but rather bland.

Lots of closet space. Bed was very comfortable.

Ship tip

Ask before you book if they have a private cruise group onboard. We had a 800 person group called Concerts at Seas onboard. They took over club venues in the evenings and had their own entertainers. Very frustrating to many of us since we couldn’t use some major facilities onboard.

We took a private island tour. Island is very poor and needs better infrastructure.

Rented a car and toured the hurricane destruction. The Island has many years of work ahead to repair and rebuild.

We took a private tour to Porta Plata. Rum factory and chocolate factory tours were fun. Our taxi driver was wonderful. Very poor island. Sad to see.

We got randomly chosen to go through a customs inspection. Very frustrating. As we had done the EZ check bags and boarding passes on the ship. We didn’t have our bags available etc.
