WORST VACATION EXPERIANCE I EVER HAD by MrugeshS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE NOT TO GO ON THIS CRUISE, MOST IMPORTANT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS AUTHENTIC INDIAN VEGETARIAN FOOD, EVEN WHEN WE HAD TOLD REPEATEDLY WHAT WE CAN EAT AND WHAT WE CAN NOT, NOT A SINGLE DAY THEY CAN PROVIDE PROPER FOOD. CAN YOU EVER IMAGINE INDIAN FOOD WITHOUT INDIAN BREAD..................... I STRONGLY RECOMMEND, PLEASE UNDERSTAND CULTURE AND FOOD BEFORE YOU START SERVING, THIS IS CLEAR AN INSULT TO THE INDIAN VEGETARIAN FOOD.

Probably Not Coming Back by EveN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

I am not sure if this trip was worth the money, as my mother brought us all on this cruise to celebrate her 70th birthday. The most important part was that we were all able to be together.

MY FIRST & WON'T BE MY LAST!!!! by Carlito

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

This was me and my wife's first cruise and we both enjoyed every single minute of it! There is nothing I would change about this ship, servers, staff, shows, games, or food! From sunrise to sunset this cruise was amazing! I was a little nervous about staying this long aboard the ship, but once on the ship my worries went out of the window! Thank you BJ's & Carnival for giving me one of the best experiences in the world!!

I survived Huricane Irene on the Glory by TammieP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Well we left 2 hours early to avoid the huricane and we were able to get into our staterooms at 1:30. In our stateroom we found all the normal things you would expect, but our cabin stewart Juan was excellent! It was my nieces 1st cruise and she was so supprised how friendly the people were. Our cabin was in the middle of the ship so other than our closet and drawers opening and closing a few 100 times we faired the storm well on the Glory. The deck areas were kept very nice and clean. The bathrooms not so much. The ship was good for what I payed. You get what you pay for.

Bad start good finish by SaulS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We recently sailed on the Glory to St. John and Halifax. It was my first cruise and a memorable at that. Because of oncoming storm the departure of the cruise was advanced by few hours. First 2 days of cruising was unpleasant and bumpy. At times the ship looked empty with few guest in public areas. In the middle of second day the captain made a decision to change the itinerary. There would be no port call at St. John and we would stay overnight in Halifax. The ship slowed down and the pleasant cruising began. We arrived in Halifax around 6 PM and it was closed. Only restaurants and few gift shops by the boardwalk where open. The staff was great, always smiling and ready to accommodate. Good variety of entertainment. All kind of music; 60's, 70's R & R, Latin, Island music, Classical piano and easy listening popular tunes. The shows were great but we really enjoyed the 60's, 70's and 80's live music and a comedy show. Felt like a totally different night out, every single night. The Mongolian wok, food was the most popular for lunch and the line was at times 45 to 1 hour wait. Our stateroom was cozy but first night was mostly sleepless due to bumpy ride. Overall we have to say the ship was impressive and the staff was wonderful. She's worth a second look provided I get some credit for, almost, waisted two days.

Voyage of the Damned by TomC11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We recently sailed the Carnival Glory out of New York City bound for New England. Unfortunately Hurricane Irene was hitting NYC the day we left. In my opinion Carnival should have offered us the option to cancel or reschedule, but they refused when I asked if I could cancel and reschedule for a later date. The captain in his efforts to get out of port and get ahead of the impending storm went so fast that my wife and almost everyone we talked to got very seasick. Including the nurse that had to give my wife a shot for the nausea. Hence the title of this review. We also missed docking in St John, one of the two ports in Canada that we were supposed to go to. No one ever really explained why we could go to Halifax and not St John. That seemed to be the theme for the entire voyage; no one explained anything to us. It seemed that no one was running the show so to speak. The dining service both in the main dining room and the buffets was unorganized and poorly run. On other cruise lines I have been on there was always a ships officer overseeing the buffet lines and service. Not on the Carnival Glory. There was a line so long at the Mongolian Wok buffet that I never was able to try it. If it was so popular, why would they not open a second one for people to eat at. The food was mediocre at best. I have never see hamburgers as a choice in a dining room for dinner on a cruise ship. I saw only a very cheap class of entrees. Bar service was ok, but if you dont want small children sitting on the bar stool next to you while you try to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, then skip Carnival. This happened every night with the parents right there. Also the Carnival Glory had an adults-only Serenity area on the upper deck forward. However the staff never said anything to parents that were seemingly oblivious to the sign that said adults only. They have wireless internet service on board but they charge you by the minute! Can you believe it? That was ok when internet service was dial-up. In addition they tell you that satellite internet is considerably slower than the high speed internet you were used to on land. Yet they charge $1.75 per minute or $1.49 per minute if you buy 60 minutes in advance. During Hurricane Irene it was very important for passengers to keep in touch with what was happening at home, yet Carnival insisted on charging by the minute for internet access instead of giving complementary service so people could keep in touch with relatives and friends back home. I have been on many cruises going back many years and I have never had a worse time than on the Carnival Glory.

hurricane + cruise=bad idea by KaraM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

I don't think the ship should have sailed when it did.. We were suppose to see to 2 ports.. only one.. many people fell and threw up everywhere.. The seas didn't make me sick but watching everyone puke and smelling it did.

I can't believe they took us out there!! by KelleyP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

This cruise should have been cancelled. Unfortunately they decided to take us out in a hurricane which totally ruined the trip. It was dangerous and foolish. We rocked so hard we were told to hold on to small children. This went on for two days. FINALLY the captain says he's taking a different route and things got better. Ridiculous. Due to the weather, we could only go to one port..that was ok..beat being sick for the entire cruise. All of the workers on the cruise were friendly and helpful but the food was awful!! Every morning I was awoken around 6am to the sound of banging and clanking down the hallway..even vacuuming. When I complained I was told that they would wait until a later hour..but did they? Nope!! The entertainment was so pathetic that even my 13 year old couldn't take it. Lots of children on this luding my own. The only problem was there was very little supervision. Kids were running everywhere, were jammed in the tiny pool and whirlpools. After waiting 5 years for a vacation this was pretty sad and disappointing.

Didn't really describe experience. Shoul by AndreaB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

The cruise should have been canceled because of Hurricane Irene. That said the ship was well equipped, clean ,rooms were decent sizes and it was comfortable and had amenities that I expected. Everything was accessible and it was decorated recently so was attractive.

Would give it a by MicheleM6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

The boat should not have left due to Huuricane Irene. They should have waited until Monday to leave whan the water was calmer. We were falling out of our of our beds the first night. The next day they did not fill the pools so the kids had nothing to do. Then they were late to port and cancelled our second port. Really a very disapointing experience and would not take a carnival cruise agian.

A Little Disappointed by VeronicaM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

This is my third Carnival Cruise. I was on the Miracle last April and the Glory last July and this August. I think the food quality has gone down. The offerings in the dining room are limited. This may sound strange but I think when you offer two types of chicken and a turkey dish at the same meal that excludes people who do not eat poultry. I think it would have been better if one poultry, one beef, one pork, and one fish dish be offered so there is something for everyone. I found myself ordering the same skirt steak almost every night because I did not like the other offerings.

the 99 dollar tour to Saint John (top 10) was nice, but expensive for what was provided. On the other hand the top ten tour to halifax was much better and 10 dollars less.
