Be prepared for Covid imposed daily testing and masking requirements in common areas. But, because of these requirements, everyone stayed healthy throughout the Cruise.

I brought way too many dressy clothes -nice casual is all you need.standard rooms are very nice so if you can’t afford the upgrade you will still enjoy trip-so many cozy spots on ship for quiet moments and nice areas for socializing too.

Lose weight before you go on the ship, because the food is delicious and weight gain is a given.

This is a relaxing ship. Very mature crowd. Actually, we found many of the travelers to be cruise 'snobs'....will 'only' cruise Viking even though they have never been on any other cruise line. We met several in that category. It was by far the most expensive of any cruise we have done.

Get the included flights and transfers for an easy, no hassle trip

We found using their flight services to be very good. The flight prices were reasonable, better than what we could have got ourselves. They went out of there way to give us connections that we wanted. Also it includes transportation to and from the ship

Don’t sail their South American itinerary! If you were expecting ports that gave you the wildlife that you came there for. It’s not going to happen.

Don't do this cruise unless it is the oringinal itinerary and bring extra hangers (I use the ones you get when you by clothes in stores)

Know that Viking is not required to go to any port listed in your itinerary, nor offer any excursion listed in the promotional material, nor provide the extra benefits that are promised based on cabin category.

Try not to eat too much the first several days - which is HARD because you have never seen so many wonderful choices.
