This was one of the top five cruises we’ve taken…and especially exciting to me as I saw the cities in Southern Norway that my mother’s family came from.

No excursion offered day of embarkation. We almost were not let off once on board at 11am — but after some persuasion were able to walk the waterfront and do the Vernicular (to the top and back) to see the harbor from the viewpoint! Don’t miss it!

Mix up in communication regarding unfortunate incident on previous excursion/tour bus. Was finally able to “trade” spots with a later couple’s tour (as well as switch to an earlier time for the Fambana train ride, purchased separately in port.) So we got to do our two events but in reverse order, and not without some consternation!!

Absolutely wonderful walking tour and guide, through town and the Petroleum Museum!! And also the fjord tour by ferry boat under Pulpit Rock was not to be missed!! The waffle stop was an incredible lunch!

The “included” excursion was an almost disaster (first time guide/college student.) BUT, our best excursion of the entire trip was the lighthouse tour to Lindesnes!!

The “included” excursion was very good—a bus tour around the highlights of the city. On our own we visited Kon Tiki as well as the Stave Church in the “historic open air museum!”
