Review summary

Not an authentic Norwegian experience which was a major miss for us. We loved what we saw on our own—it’s a beautiful country. Viking needs more coordination between ground and ship, and needs to improve communications pre-trip. There are too many mistakes and blame on corporate.

We were in a suite and told that we could board early and our luggage would be in our room when we arrived to the ship. It wasn’t. We eventually got our stuff but they have issues setting realistic expectations. Their ground staff is bad.

The bars were great. The restaurant staff was lovely. Food mediocre and not Norwegian. Chinese, Italian, Continental is all fine however, missed learning about Norway’s food and drink. Big miss for us. Instead of Asian tasking menu, they should have a local tasting menu.

Movies were old, pool was nice. Fitness center smallish.

We didn’t go to the concerts, movies, lectures.

The waiters, bartenders, room stewards were fabulous. That’s where it ended. The tour guides weren’t that good. Big disappointment.

Junior suite was very nice, well appointed, and comfortable. The internet and TV/Movie channels were weak. The fully stocked mini bar is kind of a joke.
