Family Adventure by kerbug1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Hawaii

Having only cruised with Disney, we weren't sure what to expect sailing with Royal Caribbean. However, we were very impressed with the RC staff! Everyone we met was helpful, fun, and organized. We would definitely cruise with Royal Caribbean again.

Excellent time sailing to Hawaii! by mrolfe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Hawaii

RC is always good value for money and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I don't generally book excursions through the cruiseline because of cost, so have no commentary there.

Great Cruise! by henrytobin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Hawaii

I am a single guy & cruised alone. It was my 8th cruise. I have sailed on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity & NCL. I have done Hawaii, Western Caribbean, TransAtlantic, Alaska & Australia/New Zealand itineraries. Overall I loved this cruise & the ship. Always room for improvement but still a 5 star trip for me. :)

First Cruise by dawnallison

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ship is beautiful and all of the employees are very pleasant and accommodating. The daily updates/schedules on the TV were much appreciated. I especially enjoyed the Steve and Neal show every day - informative and hilarious at the same time.

A JOKE. Nothing like going on a Glacier Cruise where they cancelled the Glacier Viewing by acayer12161083

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

As I said this was a JOKE of a cruise. Royal Carribean should be investigated for false advertising and lies. A couple of week prior to the cruise they sent a message saying that they would not cruise by any Galciers because of a damaged engine. I found out on the crusie and from the internet that it was a lie. The Smithsonian channel they have a video on the Quantum class ships where they show that the ships have 4 enginees and only use 3 enginees and the 4 engien is a backup device so that they always have 3 engines available. So if they have a spare engine that excuse is a lie. Doing some research online I found complaints from passengers back in July that the truth was there had been a fire in July in the engine room that had done some damage. But they waited until only 2 weeks before the cruise to tell us that the glaciers had been cancelled and came up with this lie. Now lets get down to the real truth, gas prices are up and this gave them an idea to pocket some money by skipping the most popular part of the trip and save money by not going to locations where they also do not make money from excursions. After all they have NO excursions at the glaciers so they want to get to the ports where they can make millions in excursion money fees. They also same hundres of thousands of dollars by slowing down the ship to save gas money. This tirp was advertised as a Alaska with glaciers, and so they decide to increase their profits by skiping the Glaciers, which is the biggest selling proint for these cruises. Maybe the DOT needs to look into these cruise lines pumping out all the lies and hidding the truth about safety problems on these ships. What is it going to take, for a ship with 5,000 people on board sinking or bruning before the DOT takes it serious that there may be some real problems with these curise lines lying?

Exceeded our expectations. by karleick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

To list a few highlights, the ship was very safety conscious; maintenance, function and appearance of everything aboard was perfect; crew service, professionalism and friendliness was outstanding; food and dining choices were exceptionally good; the entertainment and activities for kids and adults thrilled all of us. In short the entire cruise experience exceeded our expectations.

Feel like Royalty by countycorkirish

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I mostly enjoyed the food and entertainment on this cruise. My dining experience was most enjoyable due to Michael, Bernedette and Renaldo. I could relax knowing that my food was delicious and would not cause me to have any reactions to due to food allergies.

Icy Straight could have been taken off the itinerary it was a waste of time. Also, the ships food was too bland and hardly Luke warm for all meals. by 1Spursfan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Icy Straights Point should be taken off the itinerary. The hot tubs & ships food was too cold & not hot enough the entire cruise.

Alaska is Amazing! by pharrisonega

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall, I enjoyed visiting Alaska. Such a lovely place. I have always preferred Royal Caribbean for the hospitality but perhaps the pursuit of profit via specialty restaurants etc. has resulted in less quality. While some staff members were warm and friendly, others appeared arrogant and not supportive. One example was the dining room reservation person who told me that if I didn’t have a reservation I would have to wait on line for an earlier dining time. He did not help me to make future reservations or inform me how I could make them. The hot dogs were tasteless and overcooked. A lot of the meat that was served was dry and tasteless and the lamb chops served at the Mediterranean dinner was mostly gristle and bone. One of the best meals for me was breakfast in the Windjammer dining room. This helped to offset some of the other meals. I also loved the snack and sandwich areas and the desserts were always excellent. I also enjoyed the shows in Two70. What a lovely space!

Very Disappointing by bbrojas1118

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Title of cruise is a bit deceptive we thought we were booking a cruise were we can see glaciers from onboard the ship as the pictures browsed yet we were told by the Next Cruise department that wouldnt happen being Quantum was to large and we would have to revisit Alaska on some of their smaller ships.

Too big, too many people for me by csbrown550

Really missed being able to take the White Pass Railroad excursion in Skagway, due to the engine not functioning at full capacity.

Got to Roll With the Punches by dvguinto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Cruise was great once we got on the ship. Wasn't happy with the itinerary change due to engine issues. Didn't get to cruise the glaciers or visit Skagway. Ports also seemed kind of rushed as a result. But overall we had a great time.
