Review summary

Incredible Honeymoon trip! Neither one of us wanted to come back home. From the service to the scenery to the excursions - Top Notch! We highly recommend Alaska with Royal Caribbean!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We purchased the "Key" option and had a very easy embarkation complete with a Welcome Lunch.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Everything was terrific. Excellent service whether it was for a special dinner or main dining. We purchased the drink package and appreciated not having to worry with individual drink orders. The staff was friendly, fun and personable! The food was great. We were impressed at basically every meal.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
While we didn't do a lot of the onboard activities, we could see that they were very nice. Great pool, hot tubs, ample areas for ping pong, billiards, volleyball, bumper cars, etc.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We attended some of the shows and a few of the smaller activities. They were nice. We liked that the shows were only 45 minutes which left time for many options. We also heard other guests talk about how much they enjoyed some of the shows that we had missed.

Children's Programs

We did not have children onboard.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Over the top service through the entire cruise! Our Room Attendant was excellent, attentive and fun. We loved his creative towel animals. We especially enjoyed the Chef's Table. Justin was the best host and kept us entertained from start to finish. It was a delicious 5-course meal, complete with wine pairings and a dessert to remember! Outside of that special night, the overall service was above and beyond throughout the entire cruise.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was beautiful, easy to access all the areas, had unique artwork, and was very clean. At times the elevators would get a bit full yet there were many of them. When we didn't feel like stuffing in the elevators, the stairs were very accessible as an easy (and pretty) alternative.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We absolutely loved our Balcony Cabin. We both slept incredibly well (which is not common for us)! The balcony was roomy with 2 chairs and foot stools. The bathroom was so cool, I took a picture to show our kids. :) We had plenty of room both in the bathroom and the cabin for our items. Great drawer and closet space. Very clean and attractive. We had 3 large suitcases and stacked my set together at the end of the sofa. There was still ample room for us, including our additional shopping items.

Ship tip

It may seem like extra, but well worth it..... Purchase the Drink Package and the "Key" option. The Key will give you special seating at the shows, as well as a great experience embarking and disembarking.

Very easy access. We used Uber from our hotel. It was a bit pricey but very easy.

Ketchikan, Alaska

What a quaint lovely town! We also highly recomment the Crab Boat Tour aboard the Aleutian Ballad!!! You will be entertained and you'll learn and be touched by their stories. You will also meet and talk with the actual Captain from Deadliest Catch! You get to see pots drop and pull in, you'll hold crabs, and see a Bald Eagle. You get to walk around the boat. I'm very much a female and can't stop talking about the experience. This is definitely a must-do.

Skagway, Alaska Did not visit port

We had to reroute to Icy Strait Point. I was disappointed to miss Skagway and the Railroad Excursion. Icy Strait Point has a gondola, hiking and zipline. Other than that, not much to do. This is not a town and we think it only had one shop and very limited food options.

Juneau, Alaska

We took the Luxury Yacht Whale Watching Tour. It was extremely personal and we saw whales pretty much the entire tour. The yacht was great and does not take more than 8 people. They also provide drinks and charcuterie. We also learned about whales on the way back to the dock, so it was more than simply watching. Highly recommend. I also did not have motion sickness and can recommend for those who are unsure.

Victoria, British Columbia

This was an evening stop so we only walked to the peer. It was nice. We had great fish & chips and walked along the floating houses. To go into town, you would need to take a taxi. The lines were long so we didn't even attempt that.

Disembarkation

Excellent! Our bags were taken the night before. We had a lovely breakfast with our Key option, and had easy directions to our luggage afterwards. There were also workers available to take our heavy luggage out to our Uber area - which was numbered and easy!
