Don't expect much. Beautiful ship and wonderful staff. The cruise was expensive. Food closed early. Entertainment was weak. Whole floors shut down early. If you are looking for late night fun and food this is not the cruise for you. The main pool was broken for 3 or 4 of the 7 days.
We’re taking the transatlantic from Nova Scotia to Iceland. The four days at sea to cross the Atlantic, the ocean is moving. I don’t know if it’s normal movement, But on the first day at sea, they drained the large thermal pool, because they said it was sloshing too much to be safe. It may be drained the whole four days at sea. Just a little bit disappointing. Also, the fitness center is above the thermal suite, where you sit for relaxation. there’s quite a bit of noise up above.
The layout is different from all the other ships. It's not as open in the atrium. It's more like a hotel. Takes a little longer to navigate through it.
This is not the Encore, which dazzles you instantly. The Prima is a soft-spoken, elegant ship. This is not a "party" ship, although a great time will be had. This is my second voyage on the Prima, and I've grown quite fond of her.
Make sure to study the layout of the ship prior to sailing. Make sure to make all dining and entertainment reservations as soon as they come available prior to sailing.
The Norwegian Prima is very good, but the very limited smoking area was pain in the neck, because my wife is a smoker & we had to go up to the 17-18th story to smoke in an open area in crammed corner like we were punished. A lot of other smokers were complaining about that.
Be open minded about the design. And if you're eating in the buffet area, when you are finished eating, leave and relax some where else. Let others have the table to eat. There is and observation lounge which is suited for chilling.
The Prima is a wonderful ship and is great for Europe. Due to the cold July weather, we did not use the pool often. This ship is perfect for a port intensive vacation. It is like staying in a fine hotel.
