The Prima is not one of their bigger ships and designed completely different than any cruise ship I've been on. I was aware of all the negatives before my sailing. I chose it because it was new and different. I had a spa balcony and access to the vibe club. The thermal sit is very nice and large, plenty of heated chairs and spread out nicely. I've never purchased the vibe pass but so glad I did this time even though it is almost $500 foot two. So worth it, friendly staff, also laid out very nicely and the views are amazing. Ate at both main dining rooms, food and service were good. Indulge food hall once, quick service but I'm not much of a foodie for different types of food. Cagney's and Onda were excellent. The buffet was what we expected. Shows were great and comedy was funny. We couldn't get on the race track, it was booked, but in last day we went up there and asked if they had any openings and they took us right away! That was a blast! The wave slide was fun too. Checked I the infinity pools, those were kind of neat. All in all, you cannot compare this ship to other ships. I've sailed on alot of NCL ships and the Encore is my favorite. I would sail this one again if it was in Miami. I was disappointed in the rudeness of the customers and their constant complaints. This is a beautiful, unique ship and it may not be for everyone.

The Soleil Bar is the best bar when out at sea and for sunsets!

Book speciality dining and entertainment as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

go directly to reservations when you get on the ship and reserve your shows or you may not get in.

All NCL ships have a laundry special, whatever you can stuff into a laundry bad will be cleaned, pressed, folded and returned to your room the next day for $29. There will be a flyer about it in the Freestyle Daily some time in the middle of the cruise, this will help decrease the amount of clothes you need to pack. When you go to bed, leave the sliding door on one of the closets open. The light is on a motion detector, so if you get up in the night to use the bathroom, the light will come on, when you go back to bed, it will come on again and shut off after a few minutes. As I mentioned before, make sure to reserve specialty dining and theater shows as soon as possible, the venues are too small and will sell out.

Go to Indulge on embarkation. Avoid the dining areas during peak times, they ALL get over crowded
hawkcruiser
Book entertainment, activities and specialty dining immediately after boarding the ship. Cannot stress this enough as many people missed shows, or couldn't participate in activities or go to the specialty restaurant of choice because it was already booked.

Not in cold weather areas!

This is a smaller ship than most people are used to and the layout is smaller more intimate spaces

Do not book, if you have any mobility issues, like to meet other cruisers, are a smoker. The ship definitely discourages smoking, only place allowed on deck 18, no elevator, no bathrooms no tables no chairs, no shade,no bar and spotty bar service. If you tip they will come. Our group dragged loungers to sit on after 6pm they took them away standing only.

Book shows early. But if you don't get them right away, you can always get in by getting on the standby list.

Keep an open mind and give the ship some time. It will grow on you like it did for us.
