Although the longer cruise to Alaska and the departure port are attractive, I would choose a different ship than this one. It's really a subpar experience.
verosvacay
Don’t need be afraid to ask questions from staff and be sure to tour the entire ship to find out where everything is located. Not

Bring warm clothes for Alaska. Dress in layers.

The casino does not give free drinks if you gamble in their casino (first I've seen this after 10 cruises on other cruiselines) and the food was subpar unless you spend the extra money to dine in their specialty restaurants.

Try to book an end cabin like we did.

On the cruise from SF, I would recommend the port side of the ship for a room

Upon your return to SF, go out on the 15th floor at 5:30 a.m. to see the Golden Gate Bridge and the city. It's absolutely beautiful and a great way to top your vacation.

They need more staff and friendly faces at the horizon

Alaska Cruise you need to pack a medium thick jacket, hat, scarf, gloves and I selected to wear my boat shoes instead of winter boots

Anytime you take a cruise it is wonderful and you have memories that last a lifetime.

Be prepared to relax and be around a lof of families. If you are looking to party hard, this is not the itinerary for you.
pkfortner
fire your cruise director, take Haines,Alaska off your itinerary, fire your Horizen buffet chef as the food & varity of food was tasteless and pitififulul
erbriones0405
Arrive early - you can board the ship at 11:00 once you check in.

Stay away from the smoke filled Casino and Front Desk area! Horrible smell for people with Asthma. I noticed service animals, wheel chairs, walkers and people of many different accomadations for disabilities but when it came to Asthma/breathing problems, inside smoking was allowed. Very dissappointing. I love to gamble but could not step a foot in that area.
