the cool weather was a welcome treat and the stops were all great we felt the last one. All the stops except the last one has easy town access by walking and we enjoyed the small towns and shops

Not so grand by ralbert58

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I have already given a summary of this ship which is not up to the standards of other cruises I have taken. While the staff was fine, the food was not. There was a strong emphasis on coffee and liquor packages & the coffee was no better at their International Cafe which served an asparagus quiche with canned asparagus which was very metallic tasting. I did not take an of their excursions doing my own thing so cannot comment on that altho other pax seemed to be fine with theirs.

Princess Cruise leaves something to be desired. by kentuber77

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Poor service, good dinners but terrible food otherwise, nice stateroom except for the mold in our shower, A/C never worked either. Not impressed. We will not be booking any future cruises on Princess Cruises after this one.

Great Excursions.....Ship could use some updates by bcsunder

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was only my 2nd cruise and it was very different from the Caribbean. The clientele was older and that probably made the activities what they were. I would love to stay longer in Victoria next time, but all in all, a really nice and relaxing experience. The other part that I liked was the tour of Glacier Bay. To see that is amazing.

Amazing Alaska by Cruiser23701996

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Wonderful. Alaska is extremely beautiful and our family is blessed to have experienced it together. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and the pace of life is slower so it was a nice break from our normal busy lives.

Wonderful cruise trip by muling

Fantastic cruise experience. The view is amazing. The activists and entertainment on the ships keep us busy and never felt bored. All the crews and severs are nice and warm. We had wonderful time out there!

Worst trip ever by treelady1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Awful. Boring. Dirty. Crappy food. Rushed excursions. Constant pressure to buy things. The worst. I will never recommend princess cruises to anyone unless I don't like them at all. Worst money and time ever spent.

Alaska on the Grand by jackiebunnell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

in one word...SPECTACULAR!!!  Sailed the Grand 15 yrs. ago. While she's showing her age, the ship was maintained well and clean. Food in the dining room was outstanding! Service was top notch. Staff was incredibly gracious and accommodating for my husband who was in a wheelchair. This was the most memorable and unforgettable experience of our lives.  The helicopter/dog sled excursion is an absolute must! There are no words to describe that breThtKing experience.  The White Pass & Summit Route Railway was awesome as well.

Ada from was incredibly knowledgeable And experienced with all things Alaska. Love

ruined experience by anayberg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

When we booked through the Princess Cruise agent, the only requirement we had is to get a cabin in the middle of the ship as our kids have severe sea-sickness. At the end we got a cabin on the very front of the ship. Our kids suffered horrible sea-sickness for the first two days which totally ruined their cruise experience.

Room reservation was screwed up for the entire party of 13! by carolm457

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I was promised a room across from my friends since this was my first cruise and I was by myself.  I ended up one floor above them and in the middle of the ship!  I was told it was the travel agency's fault!  I tried to upgrade to a balcony and was told there was not one room available on the whole ship.  I tried to be moved closer to friends.  It never happened.  I told the parser I wanted OFF the ship but he talked so much we were underway and I couldn't get off! I think I should be refunded my entire trip!!  The first day I spent in my room in tears since there was no way to contact my friends - cell phones didn't work and they wouldn't give out room numbers of guests.  I was miserable!!!

great cruise trip by davidco67418142

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

the trip was an excellent trip.  however, the room was much smaller than we thought.  the bed arrangements were bad.  made the room looks even smaller than the inside cabin.  very disappoint with the size of the room.  however, balcony view is always a big plus  .  wonderful view and fresh air.

San Francisco to Alaska on the Grand by sfjakey

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The cruise started with an easy embarkation at Pier 27.  Boarding started around noon and off we went to start our 10 day cruise to Alaska.  Food, service, cleanliness of the common areas and our cabin were excellent.  Weather we found to be colder than before at the ports with only a little rain.

FOOD WAS OK BUT NOT GREAT by adamscw2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

FOOD WAS OK BUT NOT GREAT. RICE WAS OVER COOKED, PRIME RIB HAD FUNNY TASTE, BEEF GENERALLY WAS NOT BAD, BUT CERTAINLY NOT GREAT LIKE OTHER CRUISE LINES WE HAVE BEEN ON.

CASINO WAS WORST WE HAVE BEEN IN.  NO POINTS OR FREE DRINKS, NO PRIZES FOR TIME SPENT. PLAYERS CLUB SUCKS!

STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND FREINDLY.

SHOWS WERE VERY ENTERTAINING.

cruise to alaska by kazasd

Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We had a wonderful time.  We were always treated kindly by friendly personnel.  We were extremely impressed with how friendly and enthusiastic all the cruise line's employees were. We were expecting great sites, great food, and good shows, but we really impressed with how we were treated.

Alaska by Happycrusing

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

10 days on our cruise was great. The food was good, the mini suite was somewhat clean. The balcony was beautiful but the furniture was dirty.  Room service never got our order wrong.  Bathtub still had hair in it from the previous guests.  Stain on the carpet.  Couch needed to be thrown out.  The sip and sail package was fabulous.  I highly recommend it only if you get it for free.  We went with 3 other couples and it the bar was our meeting place.  Almost like Cheers.  Great experience.  The speciality restaurants were good.  I don't recommend the Crab Shack.  I think it's a rip off.  My husband got sick and was in his room 2.5 days of our 10 day cruise.  The nurse was very nice.  Did you know that when you pay the the protection plan you still have to pay for the upfront costs and then submit to your insurance and then what your insurance won't pay that insurance comes into play.  Totally did not understand that and will not pay for that again.  Your decision.  Our travel agent knew that my husband got sick and he never called to find out about him.  I have sent him a lot of business.  Customer service isn't what it used to be.  Book directly with Princess. Grand Princess needs some up dating.  Jesse, Manu and joy are the best bar tenders .  Make sure you see them on your cruise.

Alaska by czapata

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Trip started May 8, 2017. We arrived in San Francisco 3 days before trip to be able to enjoy the city and do some sightseeing as well. Good decision, we had. Beautiful weather and got to see so many sights. Boarded the ship on Monday without delay. We had been to Alaska before but had not stopped in Skagway. It is a must. We did the train ride and well worth the price not expensive at all. Juneau was awesome as well we did the tram up the mountain. Easy walk from port and you can buy tickets there and also offer military discounts in most of the Juneau stores. The Glacier Bay is a sight you'll never forget. Ketchikan was nice as well. Make sure you grab one of the coupon books available at most stores with great discounts. This is a cruise that should be in everyone's bucket list😎
