Review summary

Trip started May 8, 2017. We arrived in San Francisco 3 days before trip to be able to enjoy the city and do some sightseeing as well. Good decision, we had. Beautiful weather and got to see so many sights. Boarded the ship on Monday without delay. We had been to Alaska before but had not stopped in Skagway. It is a must. We did the train ride and well worth the price not expensive at all. Juneau was awesome as well we did the tram up the mountain. Easy walk from port and you can buy tickets there and also offer military discounts in most of the Juneau stores. The Glacier Bay is a sight you'll never forget. Ketchikan was nice as well. Make sure you grab one of the coupon books available at most stores with great discounts. This is a cruise that should be in everyone's bucket list😎

Had problems with sink being clogged but was taken care of. This ship is old and shows especially on open areas

Skywatcher, you are correct about the Alaska/Texas rivalry, if you were to cut Alaska in half Texas would still be the 3rd largest state. Alaska is huge and beautiful but then again I'm prejudiced as I hail from there.

Going June 7th. Was on the Grand way back in 1999. Loved that ship.

First time cruiser going 6/27! We can't wait! Are there any theme nights? Any suggestions on excursions?

I was on the same cruise. It was amazing! And the crew on the Grand was wonderful. I can't wait to go back to Alaska.

Alaska should be at the top of most bucket lists. . . what's interesting about Alaska is the "inside" battle with Texas as the biggest state and everything being bigger in Alaska. . . not Texas. You have to go there to feel the rivalry. . . Very palpable.
