Awful. Boring. Dirty. Crappy food. Rushed excursions. Constant pressure to buy things. The worst. I will never recommend princess cruises to anyone unless I don't like them at all. Worst money and time ever spent.
Embarkation

Embarkation was ok
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Denny's of the Sea = buffet. The main dining rooms were ok only because they offered cheaper alcohol. The food was mediocre at best and laughable at worst. The king crab was about the size of my pinky finger. The burger tasted like dollar store rejects smothered in sauce. There was one desert that was ok. Breakfast was the most tolerable. The coffee was watered down.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pools were closed when I wanted to use them. Gym was tiny and useless. Rock climbing? Didn't see that. I drank, slept, and ate...that's all there was to do. There's only so much trivia one can play. The comedian was funny but the other shows were terrible. I clapped because they were over. The activity schedule we had must be been mixed up with the summer camp crafts schedule at camp because, really, they had napkin folding as an activity. Awful.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
Carlos Oscar was funny, and the dog sled lady was interesting, but everything else was stupid, boring, and obviously unrehearsed. Very lazy productions. Luckily the audience was too drunk to notice.
Children's Programs
My daughter is a teenager and she had fun in the kids areas
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Service was ok. Would have been better if they were not constantly trying to sell me something. No, I don't want your art, your shoe insoles, your ugly jewelry, the wine tasting package, the stupid pictures of me w the stuffed orca, and the cacophany of other upsells that were attempted. I felt like there was very little sincerity just a bunch of actors and actresses trying to act nice so I buy their garbage.
Also one instance I needed their help to find my daughter...they told me I needed to go back to my cabin and let them find her! I found this absurd! I obviously told them this isn't going to happen and that I would be searching until she is found. They got irritated with me.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
The room had old clothes in it, the closet wasn't clean and there was hair in the shower. The carpet was worn out and the windows were dirty. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a lumpy mess and the pillow felt like it had no stuffing. My back is still recovering from it.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
The size was ok. That's it though. The water in the shower I thought was going to burn through me mid-shower. The cabin was not clean when we got in it. The steward was courteous and always seemed to be around. I would have not tipped $14/pp pday for his service but much like everything on this cruise, it was a big expensive waste of time.
Ship tip
Don't do it. 10 days at sea - 5 of which are on the ocean and boring as hell. If you don't drink, gamble, or eat yourself into a food coma, your only option for these 5 days is to watch worthless "entertainment", play trivia for the 1000000000th time, or sleep. The ship is old and rickety. This trip sucked.
If you want to go to Alaska, take a plane and see the place...it's quite amazing outside of the couple of hours the ship gives you to see and do things. Waste.
The city of San Francisco was superior to the cruise. I wish I never got on the boat and wasted so much time on nothing. I could have stayed in Cali and done so much more for so much less.
Sadly the stupid boat made us come back at 1:30 in the afternoon on the most beautiful weather of the entire trip. I didn't get to see or do anything since the constant threat of missing the boat looms.
I worked in Alaska so I was really looking forward to Victoria. Bummed I didn't see more of this beautiful town. But by the end of the trip I was so fed up I wanted off and back in Cali where I could enjoy myself.
Couldn't wait to get off this ship. Worst way to see Alaska ever. Maybe there is a better cruise out there somewhere? If so, find it and go on that one. I've heard Holland America is nice though this experience has ruined any possibility of a cruise in my future.
Big Waste of Time and Money.
This is coming from someone that has been on many cruises. Most are very good and problems with some here and there. But overall cruising rules! Do your research and have fun, your on vacation..... stop complaining people! FYI the crew members work constantly, 7 days a week tons of hours with very little pay! You should be grateful.
I'm glad everyone doesn't like Princess or they could charge whatever they want. treelady1 it would help others if you stated some cruiseline you did like so we could understand your viewpoint. I talked to dozens of people on board, the new cruisers loved it, the veterans thought it was overall a pretty good cruise. Of course there are always some who had a different experience so we welcome informative feedback.
There was not a lot of time in ports so if you were on a busy excursion it did feel rushed but what can you do? Even Princess can't stop time.
