I really enjoyed the ship and the amnesties. The staff was awesome and made the trip more comfortable for my husband and I. The island was beautiful and the locals were very nice. The weather did not work to our benefit, we weren't able to visit the private island, but the crew were able to come-up with activities to make it a relaxing day at see. All-in-all it was a great mini-vacation.

Not that Great!! by asreimer

Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

1st Cruise on this line, and was not impressed. The Ship was OK you could tell it was an older ship, but that was OK.  The main dining meals were OK at best, do NOT eat the carrot cake, horrible!! The Service was a bit slow 2 hours for dinner of 4, kinda long I think.  Windjammer meals were actually pretty good.  All stateroom bathrooms smelled, I was in many different rooms and they all smelled the same, so was not impressed with that.  Most importantly, the service was lack luster.  I can't tell you how many times we wait in line for over 5 minutes to get a drink, most times there was only 1 bartender and the lines were long enough, you could leave and go find a bar that wasn't as busy it would be faster.  We got to the point that whomever was going up would take everyone's order and we would take turns waiting in line, it was that bad, very disappointing.

Comments on crusing by bvhardin

The weather was not good for cruising for us.  The highlight of the cruise was going to Cocoacay--the weather was too bad for us to go ashore--a big disappointment--but we understand.  No compensation was offered due to this incident.  We would suggest that movies be shown inside as well as outside--it was too cold and windy to watch a movie outside.  A charge of $20.00 per day was required to use the wifi; why should I pay an additional charge for using my smart telephone?  We would suggest more movies be offered on the tv.

It was okay by nlt3

We expected that the weather would be questionable this time of year, but so should have the cruise line.  We weren't able to go ashore in Coco Cay, so we did a "fun day at sea" - not so much fun.  The crew was unable to adapt to the inclement weather that forced everyone inside.  We were forced to sit on the floor in one of the only bars showing the AFC/NFC championship game.  The food in the dining rooms was quite good, but the buffet food reminded me of my days in the Army mess hall.

EXTREAMLY RELAXING & Attention to Detail by judy112

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I highly recommend this cruise ship, they strived for excellence & I believe they did more than expected. They went out of the way to make sure we had everything we need to have a blast. My stateroom was always perfect!!! Even when we showered after the man cleaned our room, he would re-clean our room and make sure I have fresh towels incase I chose to take a second shower in a day. Twice every day they cleaned my room. It was awesome!

The people running my table in the dining room were exceptional, they were always on top of things so if I chose coffee with my dinner, they would bring me coffee every-time I sat down. Without asking they would be prepared. We never had to want for anything. Ever aspect of our trip was enjoyable, including the people we shared our table with. Very nice people, great room, we WILL BE BACK over & over again. Thanks again for a great vacation not just a good vacation.

Bahama cruise by smatejko

Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Our cruise was very nice and the food was great.  Our accommodations were very comfortable we loved having the big window so the room was nice an bright.

Most of the crew were wonderful, the only problem was our room steward.  I told him I was cleaning the room when he asked how it was and he got very upset but didn't come in to do anything about it.  Also I took the sheets one morning as we had spilled a drink on the bed and he questioned why I did it out in the hall in front of other guests which I thought was very rude.  I did have to call housekeeping to come and clean the mirrors in the room because it looked as if someone had shaken a soda and squirted it all over.

I didn't let him spoil my trip though I just avoided him as much as possible.

Ship was great but the food left a lot on the table by grobinsonfcu

The overall experience on the ship was great and very friendly staff. Plenty of things to do for entertainment and taking advantage of their unlimited drink package was very nice. However, their food offering was often not desirable. Not much of a selection breakfast wise. It didn't seem that much better than a cheap buffet. Lunch and dinner were a bit better but it was hit or miss. Sometimes the food was delicious and sometimes it was just okay. For a first time cruise experience it was very nice though.

trip to Cocoa Cay and The Bahamas by donnafamily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Great trip. My husband and I traveled with my sons, my daughter-in-law, my mother, and my sister. We all had a great time. My mother, who is 86, enjoyed the food and the shows. She didn't do a lot on the beach or at the stores, due to walking limitations. But, she also enjoyed resting in the Solarium. My sister enjoyed the shows and the meals with the family in the My Fair Lady dining hall. The Windjammer was a bit too loud and busy for most of us to eat there. The kids, ranging in age from 29-26, had a lot to stay busy with at late-night. I really marked out for the fitness room and equipment. Our next trip will be to another port-of-call, as we are about Bahamaed out.

Very nice, food and service is great

Activities well organized but the crowd of the cruise was more from 40-70 years old.

Don't get the last cabin by Suttling

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

As a last minute booking we had no choice on cabin selection. Our inside cabin was apparently immediately below the galley and restaurant. Every night between 1 and 2 am it sounded like metal barrels rolling across the deck or heavy furniture being dragged around..no doubt preparing for the morning dining. If that wasn't bad enough, the ship,s dining staff seemed to be filled with new recruits and the service was less than expected on Royal Caribbean. The food was reasonably good with the lamb shank being exceptionally good but still, dare I say it, no better than Carnivals. Shows were good, but as with most older crowds, ourselves included, the comedians didn't always hit the right mark. Overall we could give it 2.5 and below Carnival and way below Celebrity. We haven't given up on RC, and will try one of the larger ships next time.

Really enjoyed. Wish it had been longer. Can't wait to go again. Weather was a bit cool and breezy so it made being in water too cold. Participating in karaoke was my favorite activity.

The best cruise every! by Cathyhighimpact

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The cruise was handle with the most gracious and courteous staff on board. I want to specially compliment the evening dinning waiter and assistant, Nevil and Andri  table # 215...they couldn't do enough to please us and my friends. I've had cruised before, but never did I get such service and not only that, those two were so sweet and accommodating. Your shows were so entertaining and well put together. The food that was served in the Windjammer, wasn't just good, it was excellent! The whole staff were so sweet, nice and helpful too. I give an overall an A plus, for the food, the  cleanliness, the chiefs and the up keeping of your ship. I would defiantly cruise the Royal Caribbean again. Thank you for so much for a fun, relaxing experience on your ship.

Great ship and service by louisehoffmann

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Everything about the ship and crew were great.  Our room (3588) was much larger than I imagined and it was always clean.  The ship is the oldest in the fleet, but I thought it was lovely and noticed little to be "repaired or replaced".  The food was overall very good in My Fair Lady dining room.  The Windjammer buffet was always crowded and your food wasn't hot once you found a place to sit due to the long lines at the food line and the crowded tables.  If you ate at off times things were much better.  The shows in the  Orpheum Theater were great . Some of the music in the Centrum Bar area, main central area of the ship, was too loud at times.  We had no noise problems in our stateroom, however.  We walked the steps when going up or down two flights to get exercise and free up the elevators.  The stop at Nassau didn't show me much,  I refused to pay the high price for shore excursions.  We walked the shops and were back to the ship around lunch time.  The private island, Coco Cay was lovely.  We rented a beach cabana for a small fee (prior to the trip) and found it to be the best buy of the trip.  Lounge chairs, float mats, cooler full of ice and two large bottle of water with a fruit plate served a bit later in your stay!

On departure day we took our own bags off the ship to expedite the process instead of waiting for a designated time.  All was good except the bags had to be lugged down the steps.  Some older passengers had trouble with this, understandably.  It was a good cruise for first time cruisers or for a short get away.

Even w/bad weather by wimbledon771

Royal Caribbean altered our itinerary to capitalize on Nassau our first day due to on coming bad weather. Though we didn't experience Coco Kay, the day at sea was very relaxing & the cruise compass was altered to fill our day w/many options to do's.

3 Night Enchantment of the Seas Cruise by skavalec

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

On our bus ride over to the ship we met a lady who said that she'd been on this cruise three times, and that they had never stopped at Coco Cay.  So, I wasn't too surprised when the weather wouldn't allow us to stop by the private island.  I haven't cruised in about 20 years, so I was surprised that I had to pay for every little extra.  Bingo, cost me 30.00 for one game.  Really?  Last time I took a cruise we played for free and for an hour and a half.  This made me feel like all the cruise line wanted was my money.  I think I would take a longer cruise with more ports and a newer ship the next time I sail.  While nice, this wasn't too modern of a ship.  I once was told to not pay for a nice cabin, because you're never there.  I found this again to be true, especially on a 3-day trip.  Though, one day, I think I would like to have the balcony, but this time, I'm glad I didn't pay the extra for it.

Our short trip was... cut even shorter. by TheCruiseDude

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall food quality was poor to fair at most of the eating experiences; Winjammer's Cafe and Your Own Time Seating.  The smaller "kiosk" type food was better... but still not "good".  The on-board specialty dining (Chops Grille) was excellent, both for the quality of food as well as the service. Overall customer service was good.  Most crew we encountered were helpful and courteous.  Our stateroom attendant (Michael) was very good.  Did a nice job of making us feel welcome and took good care of the stateroom. The entertainment activities rank as "okay".  They seemed to be tailored to a younger/single crowd so very possible it was just a bad fit for my wife and I. Bad weather conditions (obviously not the fault of the cruise line) forced the cancellation of one of our two ports of call (CocoCay).  The backup plan for this situation was very poorly communicated and seemed to be thrown together last minute.  There should have been better forethought put into these types of situations. The bad weather also made for an very bumpy cruse for the whole last day and pretty much all the way into port.  It did sour the event very much for me.

Related to the bad weather... I have thus far (still attempting to work this out with the cruise line) been unable to get a refund (~$300) for a Couples Massage that my wife and I were unable to partake in due to the unsafe conditions on deck.  Apparently the hypocrisy of my having to deal with the cancellation of a port of call due to weather is in no way related to their having to deal with a  cancellation on my part... for the exact same reason. This current situation is making it difficult for me to book our next cruise and was the cause of me not doing so during the "Next Cruise" events while on ship.

Our last cruise with Royal Caribean by ddouging

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my first RC cruise, my husband's second. I have cruised twice before with a different cruise line. We have been looking forward to this cruise for several months.  Our check-in process was very smooth and easy.  Everything went well and we were pleased with our balcony stateroom. Our luggage arrived promptly.  Our stateroom staff were all wonderful and the the servers in the dining room were very good. We especially enjoyed Marvin. He was fun and wonderful. All that said, both my husband and I were very disappointed with the entertainment options....nothing we were interested in. We did enjoy the farewell Broadway style show and the Captains party.  The quality of the food was very poor throughout the cruise.  The scrambled eggs in the buffet were obviously made from powdered eggs. The taste and consistency was very odd.  The food was for the most part, tasteless. This was the theme regardless of where we ate....dining room or buffet. We were also very disappointed that due to the weather, our second port of call was cancelled. It would have been nice if we had felt that the cruise line/crew had made an effort to make us feel a bit compensated for the loss of a day on the beach.  We will definitely sail with a different cruise line.....if there even is a next time.

Wind and Rain by Cruiser901

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The weather did not cooperate on our three day cruise and we were unable to stop at coca cay due to wind.  The activities director did a great job making sure plenty of activities were available while we had an unexpected day at sea.  The food was good in the dining room, but the snacks were hard to find and were not that great.  The bars were crowded and the wait to get drinks was long, but they tasted good!  Always a good time on RC!

Good service, decent cruise by krystakbwhite

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was a nice cruise. The ship, being a bit older, has been well maintained but still shows its age in the overall design as well as the limited offering of on board facilities. We didn't expect all that much for such an inexpensive cruise but we were pleased with the quality of the bar and entertainment venues. Our oceanview stateroom was a bit worn but mostly pleasing. The food was never bad, but it was only on rare occasion that we found something we thought was truly noteworthy. The barstaff were very pleasant and accommodating, but the dining experiences felt rushed. I will, however, say that we loved the barbecue spread on Coco Cay, as well as the island itself. We had the Ultimate drink package and that honestly was the highlight of our cruise! The different venues all have specialty cocktails which were excellent (I highly recommend everything on the Bolero's menu!) and as I mentioned, the barstaff were so friendly and welcoming! The entertainers were all fantastic, but the theater productions themselves could perhaps use an update. Overall, it was nice and definitely worth the money but look elsewhere for outstanding food or lavish accommodations.
