When picking a ship cabin,  it is like Real Estate...... Location,  Location,  Location...... never under or over a bar, dance club, kitchen or dining room,   also not next to elevators or crew doors.  When you book a cabin have a deck plan out so you know what is around the cabin.

We was just on the Enchantment of the Seas departing Feb 1st, we did have some issues with hard beds and loud noises from the dining room at 3 am that woke us up. We was in room 3663, at 4 am my wife was on the phone with guest services telling them about it, then that morning I went to guest services and also talked to the deck Officer about real hard beds and that loud noise at 3 am, all four nights we was woken up with then bouncing stuff off the floor, or so it sounded. Our complaints was not really addressed and we was so happy to get home and a good night sleep. Other than that we had a great time with my family and friends.

Not insulted about you comment about the more experienced cruisers (or old fogeys?), but rather a bit surprised as I figured that RCI was geared more to the younger crowd (under 40) similar to Carnival.

Thanks for all the advices and your understanding ! Will definetely do, and looking forward to my next cruise. I  wish you many more fun experiences on cruises !

Thanks for a good review.   It was balanced and gave credit to the good parts of the cruise.  you did mention that it was an older bunch but you did not give it a 1 or 2 star rating because of it.   Good balanced review.

I can understand not wanting to party with your parents and grand parents age groups.  I had that issue when I was in my 30's and went on HAL,  I felt like it was a walker and wheel chair convention,  but I managed to have a good trip like you did.  Now that I'm older I do prefer Celebrity for longer cruises but I still have a blast on Carnival for short trips (3 to 7 nights).

Welcome to cruising.   I'm glad you enjoyed your first cruise.  For future cruises I would suggest a bit of research on line and Itinerary.  The Caribbean islands are good for younger age group as is Mexico,  Alaska and longer cruises tend to be more older group (who have the time off work and the $)

:-), old is not a synonym of good or bad, of course they know how to have fun. This review was to be informative to people that maybe will do the homework I didnt, to inform them that the crowd is older, and well you dont discuss the same thing when you are 20 compared to 50, and it doesnt come with the same energy, no offense

Activities were very good as I wrote, and for all ages, karaoke, 70s disco night, cooking classes, line dance classes...

I'm wondering what activities were only for the "old" folk, as opposed to all guests. Also, were there no other alternate activities for "younger" folk?

But we still know how to have fun!!

Maybe do your homework next time;  Carnival has a "younger" crowd, if that really matters to you!
