If you’re a long time DCL cruiser, this ship takes some getting used to. If you’re a first timer, your family will have a wonderful time with the kids clubs being the best out there ( Least according to my 10 yr old nephew).

It definitely takes some getting used to the new layout! Especially if this was our 2nd Disney cruise we only were on the Magic prior so it was massive! But for a 3 & 4 night sailings I would recommend trying it out. Since our other 2 cruises got canceled we moved to this one so we did a back to back.

If you're a seasoned Disney cruiser, temper your expectations and be open minded. This ship is quite different from the other four, for better or worse. Would still sail her again, she is quite lovely.

Sail on another ship. Not worth the Disney price for a non-Disney experience, and especially not the increased prices they are charging or a new ship. Give it a year or so, but there are some things even time is not going to fix.

Take snacks and if you are a drinker some wine. There is not a lot of included food available during off times the buffet closes at two and does not reopen until breakfast the following day we had late dining at 8:15 hoping for less kids at dinner. So if we needed something to nosh on to get us to dinner we had to purchase something there was no swinging thru the buffet around 5. I’m not really a pizza person unless I’m drunk and that was really all that was available late night. You can order room service but then your stuck in your room waiting for it. Cocktails were very expensive with tip most landing in the $16 to $20 range. we were glad we had taken some wine on board

Check in process for PAT is horrid, just keep trying. The ship is gorgeous but easy to get turned around in. If you are a couple, request your own table before you board. We presumed with Covid we would have our own table. We were quite wrong and did not know this beforehand even with reading suggestions from our cruise Facebook group.

Get a balcony room so you have somewhere to go when you get tired of 4000 people trying to all do the same things

Midship cabin locations are the best. 10th floor is super convenient - sandwiched between laundries and restaurants on the 11th floor.

Buy pictures before you leave the boat if you want them. Gratuities are already added to most onboard purchases.

Don't get in full elevators as if anyone rubs the panel all the floors get selected. We were on 8 so it wasn't too far of a walk to things (stuff is on 3-5). If you have kids go to the arendelle and marvel dinners. 1923 has best food but no show
