Disney Wish

4 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: July 25, 2022

Ship: Disney Wish

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Review summary

For a long time DCL cruiser, the Wish was certainly a different Disney ship. The artwork and the ship itself is beautiful and clean, just not what I’m used to. Some more cruises on the Wish will take care of that! The new restaurants are terrific and the new pool deck eats are not to miss!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was easy, the new mustering process is really simple

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The 3 main restaurants are terrific!Arendelle entertainment is amazing and the food is great! The Marvel restaurant has lots of screens to keep you busy and the food was also pretty good. 1923 is much quieter but has lots of movie drawings and artifacts that were interesting to look at. The food here was also very good. The new pool deck food places are awesome: the taco bar was terrific and the BBQ place had huge portions! The new buffet was standard stuff but still tasty

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure

5 out of 5

Amazing entertainment and good food! Some poor sight lines but the entertainers donealk around and say hello

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The standard Disney trivia and shows are all here but Luna was small. The new layout for the funnel vision pools is wider with more pools to sit in. The Aquamouse was cute and the line isn’t as bad as the sign states.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The new Adventure show with Goofy was entertaining but short. The Little Mermaid show entertainers are outstanding and the effects in the theater were fun

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Disney service was outstanding as always. They’re the reason why DCL is the best cruise around. Yes, DCL is expensive but every penny is well spent

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The new layout is different than the other 4 ships as there’s more nooks and cranies to sit down in. The art in the ship is phenomenal and the Grand Hall is stunning. The one negative is the adult pool area: too small and has a dead end that makes it feel tighter. Having only two elevator banks is different than the other four ships but one gets used to it quickly. The buttons though are super sensitive so be careful leaning on them

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was clean, the veranda was spacious but the TV doesn’t swivel and the 3 door closet was a pain to open. The split bathrooms are still an industrial standard for families and the toilet side has a night light now, YES!

Ship tip

If you’re a long time DCL cruiser, this ship takes some getting used to. If you’re a first timer, your family will have a wonderful time with the kids clubs being the best out there ( Least according to my 10 yr old nephew).

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
The newly renovated port is bigger so it made embarkation is simpler

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

5 out of 5
The family beaches are still beautiful with the lunch at Cookies is still great!

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Nassau is just….meh. I usually stay on the ship.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
This needs to improve as the Grand Hall size is completely wasted here with a horseshoe line that avoids the hall, very weird and it really makes the corridors super crowded
