Review summary

For a 3 or 4 night cruise for someone who has not cruised before you will still love this cruise ship...however for 7 night cruises ( which will be the next ship) the adult only areas just dont cut it! Great furniture but too small area to find a place to relax in the sun, adult pool WAY too small and very hard to get out of, only 1 jacuzzi, Cove Cafe too hard to access, The Rose Bar is gorgeous with beautiful stemware and great drinks, Palo rocks as always-lets hope Disney can modify the layout for the next new ship and then fix this one in the first drydock!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Best food of all my 21 Disney Cruises!

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Adult only area has only 1 jacuzzi, Cove Cafe hard to access in rain and too small, Best Internet I've had on a ship, nice Rainforest in Spa, very quiet new ship

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Main shows were Fantastic--new movie theaters are beautiful but only have 84 seats!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Disney crew are always excellent!

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Super clean new ship--the design and layout is horrible--only 2 elevator stacks and no stairs forward or aft so you always have to go to the elevators--it seems like the adult only area was an afterthought and that the architect has never been on a cruise!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
very nice cabin similar to previous DCL ships but no drawers anymore to put clothes in--it works fine for 2 persons but for 3 or 4 it would be difficult

Ship tip

dont book deck 10 as the overhang of deck 11 blocks fireworks view or sun-book 7,8,9

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Nassau, Bahamas

we never get off the ship in Nassau...there's nothing there but Atlantis ( which is nice)

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

just always great

So no forward or aft stairs? That’s nuts!

Yeah a lot of reviews say that it’s a different layout. Just hope it’s not to different.

Thanks for your review and from all the feedback it seems Disney may have come up short. I feel alot of Disney cruise guest have been used to the Dream and Fantasy, let's hope the design team hits the next 2 ships put of the park!!
