Great trip poor food by Speedys

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Love the whole cruse experience  from the beautiful islands to how nice the staff is. I will say the food has gone from very good (on my last 4-5 cruses last one in 2007) now the food in the dinning hall very poor   What happened to the different coulters of food each night (one night it was French the next night a saletion of food from Italy and so on. The islands were fun (grand Turk and Freeport) that half moon island need to just DISAPER half moon was by fare the WORST place carnival has ever taken me. My WHOLE family agrees we will never go to Half Moon Island EVER AGIAN  sry carnival I know your comp owns this island  but I would think you would do better then that poor excuse for an island. How ever we are looking in to a trip with carnival in 2014  thx for reading my comment and look forward to hearing from you

great experience by kampmann

The only thing I can say I didn't like was the decor of the ship it was too dark and out dated but other then that we had an awesome time.  We have been other cruises and there decor was very pretty and bright.  For a ship that has a lot of young children the painting on the wall of nudes really wasn't something I thought would be on a ship known as the Fun Ship.

Great Cruise by Love2Cruiseph

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall this is a great cruise - 3 full days at Sea and 3 beautiful ports.  The only thing I would like to have change, is the order of the days at sea.  We took 2 days from Baltimore to Florida, then 1 1/2 days coming back from the Bahamas.  I would rather have the extra sea day at the end of the cruise.

The Best Time Ever On the Pride! by MaureenCopeland

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Best Time Ever on the Pride!!! Excellent food, great entertainment, activities, and the most pleasant and friendly staff ever!! We utilized the gym every day and it provided us with great workouts. I had a very good experience at the spa with Melissa, who was so kind and informative. This was my very first time that I treated myself to a spa and it was a so relaxing. My husband and I truly enjoyed our meals at the beautiful two-story restaurant and loved the staff's entertainment (singing) and professionalism. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the hard-working staff and the great care that our stateroom attendant, Victor, gave us. He is very friendly and caring. The first night of our cruise, Victor knocked on our cabin door and welcomed us with a smile and introduction. When we walked through the ship, the staff always greated us with a smile and said "hello." We loved the fabulous food and the layout of the Mermaid Grill could not be better. The Pizza Pirate was most delicious. I had a pizza every day. I also loved the icecream center because there was fat-free frozen yogart available. Our overall experience on the Carnival Pride deserves a rating of "ten." My husband and I will most definately book a cruise with Carnival in the future. The ports of call in the Bahamas was so much fun and we truly enjoyed the beautiful beaches. The price of our cruise was affordable for us as we are on a budget, being that we are seniors. Again, thank you for all the great memories! Sincerely, Maureen Copeland

Wonderful family vacation by ppaint

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I took my daughter and her fiancee, my son and his fiancee on the cruise before their weddings take place next year. We had a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic, the shows were great, especially the adult comedy shows. We loved the beaches and excursions. Spent a little to much at the casino though. We made many happy memories and look forward to another family cruise with Carnival.

Wonderful week by pookie03

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was lovely. Our stateroom was great along with our steward. The cruise director Kirk was the best. The only two small problems were the casino was very very smokey. Also our wait staff in the dining room, the 6 o'clock seating, were not consistent. I was expecting a little better. The food was good. The buffet was really good also.

7 night Carribean Cruise on the Carnival Pride by LovetoCruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had a great cruise on the Carnival Pride. We thoroughly enjoyed the comedy acts onboard. We hung out at Margaritaville in Grand Turk, splashed in the beautiful water at Half Moon Cay and went to the Taino Beach Club Shore Excursion in Freeport. Loved all of the ports. The staff on the cruise ship were top rate. It was sparking clean and the food was good, not great or exceptional, but good. The only deficit we found was the music onboard. The four piece band that backed up the shows were definitely the best on the ship. The backed up the karaoke singers in several karaoke sessions. The two guitar/vocalists were poor. The 4 piece band in the lounge tried their best but something just didn't meld, like they were four people just thrown together to make a band and the piano player in the piano bar was so-so,. The best dancing music was by the two dj's on the deck.

Fun,reasonable intro to cruising by likefun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I liked the food options through out the day. I felt the staff was friendly and very accommodating. The internet and Wifi service was terrible. The drink prices were really high and you were not allowed to bring a bottle of any kind on board from any port except one bottle initially in Baltimore. This is way too restrictive, especially given the unusually high pricing on board. The ship was otherwise clean and we enjoyed our trip.

Carnival has changed by annasgramma

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

All negatives aside, we'd rate this cruise as an 8 or 9 out of 10. However, the negatives were significant. Think long and hard about cruising on Carnival if you are disabled. Their website specifically says that therapy dogs are NOT allowed. So what do we see when we first board the ship? A woman with a tiny chihuahua on her lap that helps with her anxiety attacks, same as my son's, who was not allowed to bring his dog because it was not a seeing eye dog. They would, however, allow him to use a wheelchair....for a fee of $150.00 for the week, no matter if he used it one day or all seven. When told that we felt that Carnival was taking advantage of handicapped passengers, the clerk at Guest Services shrugged her shoulders. We informed the legal representative from Carnival that we would be filing a grievance with the Americans with Disabilities Act because of their ambiguous wording on their web site regarding Service Dogs. The embarkation process was quick and efficient, though, and there was someone to push my son up the gangway onto the ship (an all-uphill process). Our room steward, Herry, was top notch and was ready and willing to supply all our needs as soon as he was asked. He made a towel chimpanzee one evening and hung it from the ceiling. Very cute. We left it there until the end of the cruise. The beds were comfortable, and the pillows very "cushy." The food, for the most part, was good with a few caveats. When we sailed on the Victory in 2005, food was available almost all day and night, 23 hours of the day. This trip, the buffet lines were open set hours and if you didn't eat during those hours, you either ate pizza, which wasn't very good, or you waited until the next meal. For late night, until 1 AM, they had one buffet line open, which only served burgers or hot dogs and fries. The only drinks available 24/7 at no charge were lemonade, hot chocolate, coffee and tea. The only free water was fountain, not bottled. Ice cream and frozen yogurt was also available 24/7. When we booked our cruise, we were assigned early dining at 6 PM. I later edited our dining time and changed it to Anytime Dining, which would allow us to have dinner in the main dining room any time between 5:45 and 9:45. Carnival didn't get the memo. Our time was not changed on our Sail and Sign card. We only had dinner in the main dining room twice, but each time I had to explain that I had changed the time, but it was not changed on our card. It caused a problem the second time, because the girl who was manning the desk informed us that we had missed our assigned dining time, and we couldn't eat. We had to speak directly with the Maitré d, who was very gracious and seated us immediately. Believe it when other cruisers say that the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake is to die for, because it is! They serve it every evening, with the other dessert selections changing on a daily basis. The cold strawberry bisque soup was equally luscious. They had one cold soup every evening. As far as the entertainment goes, we frequented the Punchliner Comedy Club every night. They have five shows each night, the first two of which are family friendly. The other three are very adult oriented. Three of the four comedians we saw were very good. There were several trivia contests every day, including Beatles, 70s, 80s, 90s, and others. The casino was very smoky, as it was one of the very few places on the ship where smoking was allowed. We did not gamble, even though they have a smoke-free section. I had planned on playing Bingo, but paying $20.00 for ONE bingo game did not sit well with me, and so there was no Bingo on this trip. There were several prize drawings in the Fun Shop, which is the ship jewelry store. I found the proprietor of the shop, who did the drawings, to be, to say the least, obnoxious. His attempts to be "fun" were juvenile and, in my opinion, demeaning, even though he was trying to make the experience enjoyable. And the prizes? Nothing to write home about. One prize was won by a six-year-old girl. There was one big, huge, sad negative that occurred on the trip. I won't go into details, but suffice it to say Ladies, please, please, PLEASE be aware of your surroundings and with whom you are "partying." I feel I owe it to this unfortunate young woman, who we saw crying in the elevator, to at least mention this, because the cruise line will bury it. The bottom line is that in comparing the 2005 cruise to this one, it is our opinion that Carnival is attempting to protect its "bottom line" in view of the Europe tragedy. Sadly, they are doing it at the expense of current passengers.

Improvements made on Carnival Pride by 30cruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I need wheelchair assistance for embarkation and debarkation. The system now used is top notch. They take names and give out boarding numbers. You wait for your number ( mine happened to be lucky 13!) and get in the wheelchair and off you go. Well done! This was my third cruise on the Pride. Just as happy with the ship and crew as the first 2 times. I hope the ship stays in Baltimore next year.

great trip by wheel11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

To start off, I fell at home a week before trip, and was in a wheel chair for the frist trip on a ship...from start to finish we were treated like a million dollars, the staff could not do enought for us. all the food was outstanting, service was top rated, never had to ask for anything it was always there, the ship was always clean and our room was beautiful and to set and watch the the waves go by, it took me 2 years to get my wife to go on a trip, now she wants to go again before year ends. she has never relax like she did aboard the pride..we saw all the shows, won money at bingo, at the slots, and a drawing for a watch.went to shore at our port of calls and had fun, even in the wheel chair,,,we love the towels of the animals every night setting on the bed with the bed linen turn down, with two mints, if we did not have to return for Doctors  visits, we would have rebook and stay on for a secound trip..thats all I got to say, go have fun.....tks ...jerryHappy

Take Carnival out of Baltimore with Pride! by Kingcruiser123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my 10th Carnival cruise and my 15th overall. The Pride is, hands down, the best Carnival ship that I have been on! The decor, the clubs and bars, and the overall feel of the ship were factors in this. The entertainment staff, including the cruise director was outstanding - the best of all 15 cruises! Also, the karaoke was actually good on this ship, which is not something that I can usually say about any cruise line's karaoke. Good sound, decent book, and a great room for it! Beauties is the coolest dance club that I have experienced on any ship! It is a shame that Baltimore is going to lose the Pride soon. People on the East Coast, book it now before it is gone!

bahama cruise by AlisonHuzul

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Great cruise always first class and plenty of fun on the fun ship...loved bahamas and the excusions or even just staying in nassau. What I thought was off was the timing because it took to long to get to Florida and then we did not have enough time in bahamas and then rushed back the ship was going very fast back to baltimore.

wonderful cruise with the family by vitacco4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My cruise on the Carnival Pride on the August 18, 2013 voyage to Florida and the Bahamas was a wonderful trip. Traveling with my wife and two boys ages 15 and 12 we had a great cruise experience. Being a veteran cruiser and this being our 2nd time on the Carnival Pride we were impressed with the cleanliness and updated Pride. We had my wife's parents and sister and brother-in-law with there two girls ages 16 and 11 traveling with us and they too had a great time. The activities, the ports of call and the excursion all were top notch. The food overall was above average and the service was superb. The only negative was the pool deck was crowded and the lounge chairs were jammed in and hard to get access too. The pizzeria and the deli in the Lido buffet were excellent and there was never a line. The Pride seemed to be spruced up since our last voyage. The production shows were top notch and the comedy club which was in the bufferflies lounge mostly every night was a great added feature. The only negative with the shows was one night they had a singer that was suppose to be from the motown era but his voice and show were below average. I would recommend this ship and cruise for a fun filled vacation.

My family and I had a great time. A wonderful way to spend a week without spending a lot of money. The Carnival Pride was a fun ship, but Bahamas, especially Freeport, was not what I excepted. Not much to do and see... But the overall trip was wonderful and I'd recommend this cruise!!!

Reflection on Honeymoon Cruise to Bahamas by anh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I had a great experience overall. This was my fifth cruise and my honeymoon cruise so I had high expectations for the trip. Three days on water is a long time, so it would be nice to have an additional port somewhere along the trip prior to reaching Florida. I would also like to see zumba classes offered as a part of the exercises. I believe you would get lots of participation and raise the awareness of the fitness options on the ship. Also, add eyelash application to the spa to maintain style for women during the trip.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Cruise was amazing. Staff was amazing Food was delicious. Only disappointment were a few of the simple games were 18 and older which I did not understand. The bean bag toss which my 12 year old son wanted to do with his dad....he couldn't do because he wasn't 18. I didn't quite understand the reasoning behind this
