Amazing Vacation by MichelleM10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my second cruise, and first with Carnival. The ship was quite large, providing a week's worth of exploration and fun. Everything aboard was clean and well kept. Plenty of activities were run each day with impressive variety to appeal to a wide range of cruisers.

My reaction, as well as my group's reaction when walking on to the ship the first day of boarding, was "WOW"!! The glass elevators and the whole interior and design of it was unbelievable!

A Really Great Cruise by PatriciaM145902

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my second time on Carnival Legend, so I expected to have a wonderful, relaxing trip and it was everything I remembered and even more. It was helpful to already know the layout of the ship and be able to find things easily. The food was suberb and the waitstaff went above and beyond to make sure the dining experience was exceptional. The ship was clean and the room steward diligent in keeping my cabin shipshape. I especially enjoyed before dinner drinks in the lounges and after dinner music in Satchmo's club featuring a truly talented rock band. Everybody was very friendly and I enjoyed chatting with some of the servers and learning more about their backgrounds and experiences.

Cruise #7 and first Carnival by RobN1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Design and Architecture was weird to say it best. Unappealing. The spa seamed to be an after thought instead of a tranquil inviting place where peace and quiet are paramount, we had numerous noises come in to the spa including running on deck and doors slamming. I will say the ships Pods made for a quiet ride and we were located floor 7 full aft. The "hot tubs were cold to warm but never "hot". There was no drinking allowed in the hot tubs, this was a major issue for most in the hot tubs.

We had a great time! by CathieD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall we had a great time. However, we will probably not sail on a Carnival Cruise again. This was our 2nd Carnival Cruise, and unfortunately will most likely be our last. As soon as we boarded the ship we found the decorations to be tacky and over the top. We looked past that & just wanted to have a good time. The pools were very small and crowded. There were 3 pools, one was an adult only pool, and they were all extremely crowded on "at sea" days. The one nice thing about the pools was the wading area where you could sit and read. The food both in the formal dining room and lido deck were not spectacular. Evenings when we had beef entrees were done very well. We had the late seating (8:15PM) and it took very long. We didn't get out of the dining room until close to 10:00PM almost every evening. The most dissappointing thing was the Camp Carnival for the kids. We only wanted to put the kids (we had an 8 year old and 11 year old) in Camp Carnival a few nights so that we could have some time to go the Casino or a night club. When we went to pick up the kids at midnight they were the only ones there& were completely bored. Not to mention you had to pay hourly for each child after 10:00PM. Some pros would be the excursions we went on, departing/arriving from Tampa port, the gym on ship, and the quality of our stateroom. I would recommend the Carnival Legend for first time cruisers and for cruisers with older children (teens). If we were to go on another cruise with our kids we would probably do Disney or Royal Caribbean. If we were going alone we would probably do Royal Caribbean or Norwegian.

Not the best not the Worst by John2754242373

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was very upset with the service on this ship. We had a suite and it was poorly managed. The clsoet lights did not work the hot tub was broken. The room steward was hardly visible until the last day of the cruise and I am sure that was for an additional tip.

worst cruise ever by StanleyK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Just wanted to bring your attention that this cruise that we have purchased thru the BJ's vacations - was the WORST CRUISE that we have ever been to: 1. I found-out that we have overpaid - people who had suites had spent less than we did with "discount"; 2. the food was so terrible that after the first "dinner" - we - my wife, my 2 daughters and I had decided to spend an additional $140 (including tips) per dinner to dine at "alternative" dining, where I must say that the food were what we have original expected (what we had on four other cruises with Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Costa), however when I asked for vodka I was brought up a water- down drink - I called the bartender and he opened the new bottle in front of me and a new bottle was watered down as well (it all cost extra), after diner I ordered Hennessey X.O. - $12 a shot - the "cognac" that was brought up - once again was watered down - I called the bartender again and proved it to him by trying to light it up n- however the flame could not be started and he tried to pour some more from the bottle - the same result; 3. the cruise had only one normal (fruits and such) "midnight" buffet - all other time at midnight they were serving hamburgers and hot dogs (no fruits) - I personally think it was very funny of them to do so; 4. the only cruise that I know that didn't have freshly squeezed juices nor they had prune juice on board, the only cruise that didn't have mint leave to make a cocktail, first night they didn't have milk to make cocktail as well; 4. I have been also informed prior to the boarding that Internet access was $50 unlimited for the whole cruise, however on board I had to pay $100 for 250 min; My suggestion to you is to cancel whatever dealing you have with the carnival - many passengers on board has the same opinion as me, even thou that the service and the accommodations were very good. Very disappointed, Stanley A. Kaminsky

Ready to go again... by DorothyC1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our cruise on Carnival's Legend was very nice. This was our 4th cruise...this was not the best but it was very comfortable. Other ships we've liked better but really like being able to leave from Tampa. We loved our balcony room and did spend quite a bit of time there. Plenty to eat and do at any time. We would take this cruise again.

a terrific cruise by CariA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We just returned from a 7 night cruise onboard the Carnival Legend out of Tampa Fl. We chose this cruise because the port was close and we loved the sister ship, Carnival Pride. Embarkation was no problem, we had VIP, the regular line seemed to be moving pretty well. We had a very nice , clean room. I like to carnival ships with a child because they have a pull out sofa instead of an overhead bunk. Dining room food was good. Desserts delicious. Our waiter was terrific. The only negative was that our table was in the middle of the bottom floor and it was very noisy!! Not the place for trying to converse with two eighty year olds. We had adequate lunches and breakfasts on the lido deck. Didn't think the food quality was as good there. We had previously visited Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Costa Maya so we didn't take any tours. In Belize we went cave tubing with an independent company, cave tubing.com. That was a blast. And I recommend this company highly!!! They guided us through the whole trip. Other companies, including Carnival let their guests go alone, encountering many places that were too shallow etc! We enjoyed all of the entertainment. If you are looking for Broadway , you won't find it here. But the shows were entertaining. No problem finding seats. All of the carnival personnel were courteous and very helpful, from waiters to room stewards. I wasn't a sushi eater . I went to the sushi bar the first two evenings to get my husband sushi. He raved about the excellent tastes. The third evening I tried some and became a sushi fan! Overall this was one of the best cruises we have taken. The biggest negative was having to get off the ship. We were called to get off at 8:30, we hadn't even left our room yet. Earliest on any cruise! Definitely , try the Carnival Legend. One more thing , it was neat sailing under the sunshine skyway bridge. Go up on the front deck to see this!!

A great time for a first cruise by ShannonM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The decor is very tact-tastic but it grows on you and you find you miss it:) The staff were nice and personable. The room was nice and pretty big. Food was good in my opinion. This was my first cruise and I really enjoyed it, I want to go on more cruises now. This is a great boat and cruise line if for starting cruises and having a good time pretty appropriate for my age and desires on the cruise. I have heard that other carnival cruises are more young people and parties, this particular time crusing was not the case but still a lot of fun.
