Overall we had a great time. However, we will probably not sail on a Carnival Cruise again. This was our 2nd Carnival Cruise, and unfortunately will most likely be our last. As soon as we boarded the ship we found the decorations to be tacky and over the top. We looked past that & just wanted to have a good time. The pools were very small and crowded. There were 3 pools, one was an adult only pool, and they were all extremely crowded on "at sea" days. The one nice thing about the pools was the wading area where you could sit and read. The food both in the formal dining room and lido deck were not spectacular. Evenings when we had beef entrees were done very well. We had the late seating (8:15PM) and it took very long. We didn't get out of the dining room until close to 10:00PM almost every evening. The most dissappointing thing was the Camp Carnival for the kids. We only wanted to put the kids (we had an 8 year old and 11 year old) in Camp Carnival a few nights so that we could have some time to go the Casino or a night club. When we went to pick up the kids at midnight they were the only ones there& were completely bored. Not to mention you had to pay hourly for each child after 10:00PM.
Some pros would be the excursions we went on, departing/arriving from Tampa port, the gym on ship, and the quality of our stateroom.
I would recommend the Carnival Legend for first time cruisers and for cruisers with older children (teens). If we were to go on another cruise with our kids we would probably do Disney or Royal Caribbean. If we were going alone we would probably do Royal Caribbean or Norwegian.
Didn't do an excursion at this port. Got off the ship and went to some of the shops. After changing and eating lunch on the ship we went back to the big party pool right off the pier and had a few drinks. It was a nice relaxing day. Some others went into downtown via taxi and said they drank, ate & shopped for much cheaper. Good information for future trips.
We went to a private island at this port. The island itself was nice, but the water was not as clear or nice as Cozumel or Cayman. However, others on the boat went on different excursions and said the water was absolutely beautiful where they went.
We did the Stingray City tour, which was great! I would highly recommend it. The entire excursion was about 3 hours long. We had a great time and the crew was wonderful. We also went to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville after, which was a great time.

We did the "mini jeep" adventure tour at this port. It was so much fun & the kids loved it. We went to a beautiful beach at Punta Sur & went snorkeling. The water was pretty rough & tough for the adults and kids. All in all it was a great time.
