Overall a good cruise by MartyM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Entertainment average; except for Beatle Maniacs, which was the best show we've seen on a cruise (this is our 14th). Ships dancers and singers below par. Nightclub was good; although DJ didn't want to play requests. Other bands on ship very good; nice suprise. No excursions taken; we've done them already. Princess stopped talking to us when we made a request regarding their spa; big disappointment. Check-In very fast; no problems. Easy-check program an absolute disaster; Princess will print out airline boarding pass and luggage tags for departing flight for $15 each. They mixed up our luggage tags and boarding passes (different flights); after 5 hours spent with customer service, and 5 visit to their C.S. station on 5th deck, couldn't resolve it, so we had a member escort us to our luggage to take back the 'easy check' tags'. Extremely stressful; especially when Princess had to refund money. They tried to connect us via ship phone as 'courtesy call' to our airline; spent an hour on hold. Then Princess charged us $145 for the phone call (which I was able to get credit for; after hours of debate with them). This experience basically brought back most of the stress I had relieved during my cruise; a shame... We like the movies on deck; great idea. Really wanted a rowing machine in their gym.

A vacation to remember. by AngelaH6

Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I had a wonderful time on this cruise. The food, service, ambiance, everything was very nice. I enjoyed the art auctions, the different shows, the spa and all the other extras on the ship. The only thing that I can see that may have been better is when we left the ship. No one called out our code and we had to go to someone to find out when we could disembark. We should have been one of the first to get off of the ship, but unfortunately we were not. But overall, everything was wonderful and I can't wait to do it again.

Just a delight! by EdithF

Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were very pleased with our accommendations. Excellent cabin steward. Everyone was most helpful in finding our way around. Plenty of activities to choose from. Announcements were loud enough to hear all over the ship. Meals were delicious and served beautifully. We enjoyed anytime dining very much. Entertainment was usually good. Liked the idea that beach towels were in our stateroom. Disappointed with the shops and the selections - very limited for children and no infant items.

A good cruise that could have been bette by AndyK4

Sail date: /
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our second Princess cruise. The Carribean Princess did not match up well with the Star Princess. Same footprint but 30% more people taxed the facilities. This caused the passengers to become testy with each because of the long waits. Princess did enforce their no reserving seat rule. Causing some problems when it came to theatre seating.

Magnificent cruise by KristenH

Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was in fantastic condition overall. Our cabin was a tad bit worn looking though. I didn't realize that our cabin was near a smoking area. As a result of that, our cabin smelled of smoke. The steward deodorized the cabin, which left left a smell that was very strong. I wish I would have known because I would have never booked that close to a smoking area. The Dance floor in Club Fusion and the Explorers Lounge were great.

A GREAT TRIP ALL AROUND !! by DannyL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

this was my first cruise and it will not be my last. the only complaint i have is the transportion to and from the cruise ship that i book with my cruise. those people where rude, wasnt where they where suppose to be and not very informative. the cruise its self was amazing. 7 days wasnt long enough. the staff was great, the food and diffrent kinds of places you can eat was great. i had a balcony room, and i wouldnt go any other way. the ports of call where amazing. St. Marteen, St. Thomas, and Princess Cays all where amazing places, and some of the best shopping port in the world.

An Okay Cruise by GeorgiW

Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall the ship was clean and the main areas were well maintained, though it was a Christmas cruise so it was jam packed with people, which is what we expected. Our stateroom was poorly laid out and the bed was awful, we have cruised several times and expected a higher quality from Princess, which is how we selected the Caribbean Princess. The buffet was plentiful, and the food was attractively laid out and tasty, though we did get sausage that was bad on one day. The dining room service was slow, and drink service was poor at meal times; one time we had to get our own water, and then the waiter told us not to do that cause he would get into trouble, but thirsty people need drinks. The food was not stupendous, but again it was tasty and served attractively. This ship had 2 adults-only pools which was great, though some parents took that to mean they could take their children there if they wanted. Once the sign was pointed out to them they would usually take their children to another pool. There were enough deck chairs which is great as so many ships do not have enough. There were plenty of activities on board the ship, so if someone was board, ti was because they did not take part, a person could lay in the sun all day or take part in numerous activities.

Not quite up to expectations by LizW

Sail date: /
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The customer service on board the Caribbean Princess was nothing like I expected it to be. The waitstaff is so busy staying on schedule in the dinining room they do not have time to talk with you or to take drink orders! This cruise line does not have wine stewards in the dining room to take care of your drinks. The menu in the dining room was not stellar either; it was quite boring. The bedding was quite uncomfortable as well. In addition to the uncomfortable bedding, the bathrooms did not contain hand-held showers. I was in a balcony room on Baja deck- we should have had hand-held showers. Also, we also missed the folded towel animals. After to talking to other room stewards, it appears that is only only done for cabins traveling with children. I missed the towel animals! On the plus side, the ship had two pool areas that were adult only! Overall, we will not be cruising with Princess again.

Just What We Wanted by BillL4

Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was a second cruise on the Caribbean Princess and the third on Princess. We booked our fourth cruise on Princess before the third cruise docked. We have been on other cruise lines and have enjoyed all of them but prefer Princess. We have found that Princess provides our dream vacation and look forward to our trip on the Crown Princess in 2008. We tell our family and friends that you will find what you are looking for on a cruise.

Princess ruined our wedding vow renewal! by MelissaL8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We love cruising and our last experience with princess was on a new ship. However it seemed our current room had scrapes and tears on the wallpaper. NOT our stewards fault he was awesome. He kept it very clean but you could tell that the room was roughed up. Plus our bed was really broken down and needed to be replaced.

What a Great Trip! by AnthonyP1

My wife and I took our first cruise with Princess Cruise Lines and we had a blast. The people who are in charge of this ship should be very proud of the employees on your ship. All the service was excellent. We felt like everyone tried to make us feel at home.

A so so cruise by MalcolmH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Some of the staff were not very freindly. Although the tips were being added to the tab daily, every time you received anything from room service or the bar or ice cream parlor they made sure they had a place for extra tips. Found them more expensive than other cruise lines we had been on.

2nd time Princess cruiser not impressed by JulieH2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have to say that my Husband and I were a bit dissapointed this time. I wouldn't say that ANY of the staff went out of their way to make our cruise the best we had ever been on. Most of the bartenders acted as if they didn't really care for the jobs in fact, when we did come across someone who was even the slightest bit friendly my Husband and I joked that they must be new and they hadn't really had a chance to dislike their job yet. We ate in the dinning room most nights because we liked the ambiance but the food was just ok. I am aware that it is hard to feed over 3000 people everynight but a HOT plate of below average food would have been nice. The few times we did dine in the buffet the food was ok but the set up is horrible. We felt as though we were balls in a pinball machine as though we were all bouncing off of each other. This is our 2nd time traveling on Princess and enjoyed it so much the first time and we thought we would try again this time around but as previously stated we were very disapointed. It's so unfortunate when you plan all year for a vacation and save up that you are so disapointed. Fortunately I enjoy my Husbands company so we made the very best of it that we could!

An Exceptional Ship and Crew by PeteM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The 30 September Western Caribbean sailing from FLL was our second on the Caribbean Princess and will most certainly be followed by a third cruise to the east in December. In the course of a week we received and heard of nothing but exceptional, prompt, and friendly service from every department on the ship. Always plenty to do without being frenetic, this gorgeous vessel has something for everyone. Anytime dining is the wave of the future and C.P. does it with flair and excellent cuisine. Yet another plus...this ship is as well or better stabilized as any I have experienced and seas that could be an issue for those sensitive to motion simply aren't a problem on the C.P. Those of us who generally cruise from Florida will miss her when she is redeployed to New York next year.

A Fantastic Experience! by TroyF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I could not believe the size of the ship! It was like a floating city. The fact that something that big and heavy and METAL could float so effortlessly was unbelievable. I also was Completely blown away at how Clean the ship was! I really felt that i could literally eat off the floor. And last but not least, the service. I was Excellent! I felt really taken care of. Everyone was nice and respectful. I really had a good time.

A great cruise by PattiP1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Caribbean Princess was a great cruise ship. This was our first time on a Princess cruise, although it was our second cruise exprience. Everything from start to finish was extremely organized and well staffed. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. They went one step beyond to anticipate your needs. There was always a person to take your drink order, etc. Often times you wait and wait for bar service - not on the Carobbean Princess. There were 6 of us in our party and we had decided not to "book" early or late dinner reservations. So that we would have the flexibility to dine on our own time. However, after the second night we fell in love with our waiter (he catered to all of our dining needs and then some) so we made a specific reservation for each evening. Food was of a very high quality. The presentation was always magnificant - especially the Caribbean Buffet - with the beautiful ice scultures, etc. Poolside activites was a great deal of fun, engaging the guests to participate - all ages were invited to join in. Th entertainment was great. Each evening we would attend the shows and then pick our "club of choice" and enjoyed everyone that we attended. Lots of fun and laughter. Shops on board were great. I realized I had not packed a hat - and withhot sun everyone I would definitely need to purchase one. So, that was very easy - off to the $10 shop - which was a great find. Hats, beachbags, evening bags, everything you could imagine for a mere $10. Of course the boutiques on board wre great as well - and yes, our group - the "girls" of course did visit and purchase from several shops. For me personally the "suite" made the cruise perfect for me. I do not like small, tight areas. And in the past we have always had a balcony, but not a suite with a balcony. The size of our room, was great it was like a large studio apartment, and the bathroom was fabulous. Very clean rooms. I probablywill not be able to cruise again, unless of course I book a suite with a balcony. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and we all had a wonderful time and will defintely book a Princess cruise in the future.
