Carnival Paradise overview

By Cruiseline.com - Updated Aug. 27, 2019

Carnival Paradise might have debuted in 1998, but one of Carnival’s oldest ships has undergone some enhancements over the years with the latest being a month-long dry dock in 2018. Carnival Paradise is now equipped with the latest Funship 2.0 enhancements, including new cabins and venue upgrades. This large ship now offers even more activities to choose from, like the Twister waterslide, mini golf, Hasbro: The Game Show, and Playlist Production theater shows.

Younger kids (ages 2-11) have their own space, Camp Ocean, where they’ll participate in organized activities from contests to arts-and-crafts. Thanks to Carnival’s partnership with Dr. Seuss, you’ll find Cat in the Hat meet and greets, parades, themed crafts, and even a Green Eggs & Ham breakfast. Adults can unwind in Serenity Retreat, a space just for grown-ups complete with loungers, hammocks, hot tubs, and a full bar. The Majestic Casino, Spa Carnival and Alchemy Bar are also worth a visit.

For mealtime, head to Carnival Paradise's main dining room for the classic cruise dining experience, or the lido buffet if you want something a bit more casual. On sea days, there’s a special sea day brunch where you can enjoy both breakfast and lunchtime favorites, including a few quirky and fun offerings. Other choices include the Pizza Pirate for a quick slice or the Mongolian Wok when you’re craving some stir fry. If you’re looking for a classy evening meal or want to celebrate a special occasion, consider booking the Chef’s Table, where a small number of guests are treated to an elegant multi-course meal presented by one of the ship’s head chefs.

Sailing year-round from the Tampa, Florida cruise port, Carnival Paradise itineraries include short, 4-5 night Caribbean Cruises, along with special sailings to Havana, Cuba.

Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Paradise 5 day was just OKAY by gpatmacmac

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Paradise

This was an inexpensive cruise for us. The value was good for the five days. I probably would not cruise on this ship again unless it was rennovated and upgraded. I would try a newer Carnival ship. We booked this trip through . Our trip advisor, Pamela Meeks, was super knowledgable and helpful in booking this trip. We plan on using her on future potential cruises.

It is very casual. Do not feel that you need to dress up. Blue jeans are allowed everywhere.
