If you are cruising because of the itinerary like I was, (Japan is awesome) you can deal with the short comings of the ship like I did.

The main reason I went on this Cruise was because of the ports of call. I wish I had picked a different Cruise Line or at least a different ship. It was definitely not my demographic

Japan is a very clean, very quiet, polite populace, interesting country to visit. Not sure if you need to visit 14 cities. Would have preferred more information about their economy, how the automobile and electronics industries became so dominant and more about their daily lives. 53 days was a bit too long. Cut back on the number of cities to 9 or 10 and shorten the cruise

The tour offered by your site in Honolulu was awful. 1. The tour was scheduled to begin at 0700 and began at 0750 2. The tour was supposed to include a small credit/coupon for lunch and did not. 3. The tour was supposed to be 7-hour tour and was a 5-hour tour 4. Hope to see a partial refund for this tour. 5. The tour in Hilo was excellent.

Will not sail Holland again, wasn’t impressed with the amenities on ship.

Overall, the cruise was amazing and would definitely sell with Holland America again. The Westerdam is not a super fancy ship, but in my opinion, that’s not the most important feature. The service the amenities were all perfect.

This was a nice small ship so getting on and off was easy. Maneuvering around the boat was easy as well since there was only 10 decks

Holland America's Westerdam ship was a perfect "first cruise" for us - it featured all the amenities we hoped for on our cruise experience, but not as many people as some of the bigger ships (we learned it was half the passenger capacity as some of the ships we met in port!).

Really liked this smaller boat. Got the package with internet, drinks. Would totally do it again.

This trip was everything I hoped it would be. There was a good mix of activities and relaxing. Everyone should do an Alaskan cruise at least once.

The cruise was good and we would do it again. Listening to the two young pianists playing fun music on 2 piano 4 hands at Billboard Onboard was our favorite onboard activity.

Great cruise. Loved it would do it again. Already recommend it to family and friends.

We had a wonderful time. We were on our honeymoon/vacation and the weather was good.

Would do again but visiting different ports further north just for a change of venue.

This was a great cruise. We worried about going too early in the season because that was the only time we could go, but everything worked out perfectly and the weather was pretty good. Of course, we came prepared with thermals and a rain jacket. There is still a problem with Covid on ships. Two people from our group did get Covid.

Alaska has been oversold by cruise line. There are too many people to actually experience what people have gone there for.

Greeted at many ports by dancers, tyco drummers, and folks greeting and waving at us upon arrival and departure. All cities were very, very clean with helpful people. Felt extremely safe in all cities. Once the logic of the subway and addresses can be identified it is easy to travel. Left Japan feeling very peaceful.

We had a fantastic time visiting Japan. It was an unforgettable experience visiting the country. The cruise itself was alright but not the best we have experienced in the past with Holland America.

Great itinerary! Bring cash! Many places you go do not accept credit cards, like all public transports in Japan. ATMs do not take US credit cards for withdrawals, either. With cash, you can use the automated money exchange machines at the port terminals very easily.

we enjoyed this cruise very much. The ship was very nice, staff was so nice and they work so hard. Our ports of call were very interesting, and our excursions were great. We saw alot in every port, and things that we had not seen in other places in the world. We enjoy Holland America cruises, as they are not real fancy, but simple and the food is always very good.
