Don’t try to make comparisons to newer or larger ships. The Volendam has much to offer and you could miss out on its charms if you do.

I should have booked a Balcony room. We all got sick except one and last three days on the ship, I noticed many cough and sneeze. I think a balcony room with fresh air will help.

Our room was on the main deck, close to everything. The ship was perfect!

There is a great observation area at the very back of the ship on Deck 6. Its out of the wind and offers full 180 degree views.
