Short return trip to Hamburg by Sean2Shop

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Victoria

I love the QV and have spent many days on it now. Whilst I know that Cunard is known as a luxury cruise line, it needs to ensure that its high standards and service is consistent across the ship.

Lovely R&R CRUISE JUST AFTER CHRISTMAS! by peter2498

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We enjoyed this cruise as a restfull time. If i was to be uber critical , i dont think i could do more than a few days with Cunard as it is a little quiet. i usually travel with Princess and there is a little more life to the boat. But for a four day rest and relaxation it did the job!!

What a let down! by Gillieb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

The first port of call in Maderia, my cousin flew back to the UK and left me solo for 9 days. Interestingly, she was not the only one as the Cunard Pursuers informed her that another couple had flown home because the entertainment had been so bad!! I stuck the cruise out as it had been my ‘dream’ to go with Cunard. It’s not put me off cruising, but it won’t be with them.

A lovely autumn cruise with generally good weather, interesting ports and good food. A nice mixed group of fellow passengers who weren’t as old as expected. Highly recommended for culture and food lovers of all ages.

Wonderful Winter Cruise by EmmaP1980

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Victoria

We chose this particular cruise as we wanted and thought we might be able to see the northern lights. We did a shore excursion to chase them but they never appeared - ironically we got back on board and a hour later they lit up the sky! All in all a wonderful cruise, we both had a thermal spa package to assist with the cold as it wasn’t warm during the day and you couldn’t really swim in the outside pool unless very brave.

Love the QV by Rydeboy

Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

My only disappointment was my waiter Michael. First time we did not tip the waiter directly but the head waiter was superb.

Fabulous Med cruise by Gunnie1958

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

As always on Cunard there is plenty to do day and night, but also places to sit and read in peace and quiet with a nice coffee if you wish. The Winter Gardens have several TVs, so can get very busy with sports being shown (the rugby World Cup on our cruise!). The ports of call were varied and interesting and the sea days are great for relaxing or line dancing! And don’t forget Zumba at 9.15am!

A wonderful cruise , with great friendly fellow cruisers , I have taken a star off as it was not as good as the very best cruises I have been on with Holland America , but that is nit picking . Lovely feeling of space , a great ship !

Superb as always Great staff Great food Great ship. Some very rude passengers this voyage. ( as usual. American) which the crew should not have to deal with. But it didn't distract from the fantastic experience. Thanks cunard as usial

Amazing boat and scenery by katyat

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Never cruised with Cunard before and had heard some horror stories which thank goodness did not come true. People where very nice and multi national which we didn't think would be but was a nice surprise. The people on board where quite a bit older than we were but were all nice and friendly. The price of the drinks even though we had done our homework before hand were still quite expensive but were very nice and worth the bill at the end.

Elegant Norwegian Cruise by warrena0

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

An elegant cruise to a stunning destination that is a must see. The ship provides top service, catering and shows for a more discerning crowd. The ship itself was not crowded even though full, and is furnished with elegant high quality finishes. Strongly recommend Cunard.

Indian Ocean Idyll by bmetcalf

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Asia & Indian Ocean

This was the first part of a longer cruise that continued to Southampton, and many of the remarks above apply to the whole trip. With luck, I'll be able to review the other segments. I don't know if it was the ship or the air travel, but I came down with a bad cough that took me three weeks to shake. Fortunately, the weather was warm and the seas flat, so I took to sleeping on our balcony. The high humidity helped a lot.

Research for book on Cunard by paulcurtis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

I was revisiting Victoria as she had a recent major makeover which I wanted to see as I was gathering material for my new book High Tea on the Cunard Queens which tells the story of my life spent on every Cunard Queen ever built and the changes seen over the last 55 years. The book will be released by History Press in July 2019

Cunard has gone downhill since... by gohunter

Sail date: /
Ship: Queen Victoria

Cunard has gone downhill since our last cruise with them and to be quite honest is poorer than many 3 or 4 star ships that we have been on. The QV is a dark ship inside. So much so that we both felt that we were starting to suffer from the SAD syndrome after a few days on the Atlantic crossing, so we had to make a point of going outside on the sea days, regardless of the fact that the first few were rather cool and windy. The lifts actually reminded us of our visit to the Titanic Experience in Belfast, where you are taken up in a virtual lift with dark wood panelling. Many people commented on the lack of decent amounts of light. The itinerary was OK, but could have been a lot better. Between Southampton and San Francisco, we passed by some ports that we knew were better than the ones we visited!

Classy liner, nice staff, Cunard as usual. A tradition. by lahrdeco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Caribbean

Cunard Queen Victoria is quite the same as Cunard Queen Elizabeth, less Art Deco than QE, the QV is more victorian style, and more classic. The Cruise was excellent, due to the calm sea in January 2019, a very rare situation. I loved the daily program, which offer everyone something, and you are not boring at all. Only about 6 children were aboard, so be advised that for this World Cruise (and I think also for others) you will meet more mature passengers.
